Hi. This is a tough one since everything looks OK except for the fact that your burner neither recognizes nor likes the media you're using. Here are some things to try. Download and try using ImgBurn to burn the ISO. Just use the Write mode of ImgBurn, select the ISO as the source, set the write speed and burn. http://www.imgburn.com Use Device Manager to uninstall your DVD burner. It'll autoinstall upon restart: - Right click on My Computer and select Properties. - Click the Hardware tab and then the Device Manager button. - Expand DVD/CD-ROM drives. - Right click on the name of your burner and select Uninstall. - Restart your system. Try some different media like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, or anything labeled Made in Japan, especially Sony and Fuji disks so labeled. Also try some +R media or RW media. If all the above fail, find another system in which to install your burner to test if it works correctly. If not, the drive is likely faulty. That's the quick and dirty version. Edit: typo
Hi, thanks for your reply. I've tried to simulate a DVD-R and once it failed, another popup from the Windows System came up regarding MusicMatch even though I've not been running that application while burning. Anyway, after that error came up and MusicMatch was closed (!?) the simulation was successful, and I managed to burn my DVD-R. So after all this, it was MusicMatch causing all the problems!?!!
Heres something else you should consider These are horrrible discs, try Verbatim or Sony (made in japan) Slow your burn to 4X Heres some reading on CMC Mag discs http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262544
Thanks for your advice. I think Disc Manufacturer: CMC MA - G. AE1 refers to DVD-R's I bought from Tesco... Disc Manufacturer: OPTODI - SCR004 refers to Imation discs... and Disc Manufacturer: RITEKF - 1 refers to Maxell discs... I know (*think*) Imation and Maxell are quite good so I was really surprised when they failed. But like I said before in my previous reply, the problem originates from MusicMatch for some really strange reason...>.<
