I suggest CCleaner or Spybot (both free) to temporarily disable start ups that are loading up your Ram. You can turn them back on after if you want but you will see that 90% of the software that starts running in startup you don't need, they just load up your Ram making it unusable. Don't shut off needed startups such as anti-virus, anti-spyware, etc. Encoding and burning video is Ram intensive. Also look at one of my above posts and you will find the firmware update for your drive. The firmware for your drive has been updated at least twice since yours was released.
How do I use the firmware update? I have never done this before? I don;t want to screw it up or my computer? Thanks for the help.
First off save this zip file to your documents or desktop (wherever you save downloads to disk) http://ftp.us.dell.com/rmsd/Gd30.zip I suggest if you don't have one already, create a folder in My Documents named Unzipped. Open up the downloaded .zip file and extract it to the new Unzipped folder. Shut down any programs you have running, go to Unzipped and run the .exe. Follow the installation instructions to the tee or you can fry your drive. Don't let that dissuade you from updating. Just follow instructions and there shouldn't be a problem. I've never had one.
Everything worked on the burn this time except no sound. There was a caption that came up right before I began to burn the dvd saying, licenses needed or something to that effect. Are the sound files (five songs) coded somehow that I cannot burn them?
I'm betting your audio files are .wma Right? Here's a thread that will help. You should have it after this. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/156883
