I am trying to convert my DVD collection to any file type that will play on the WD TV media player (mpeg1/2/4, wmv9, avi, etc) and preserve the quality.

I have tried some trial versions of ripper software, but they have all taken about 12-13 HOURS to create a file from an 85 minute movie. Is that normal? It seems awfully long given the time to rip to .vob files is no longer than the movie itself.

Is there a way to convert the .vob files to .avi or another that will play on the WD TV?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
