Hi I have a laptop and a null moddem cable but the connections afe different is there an adaptor i can get as there is 15 holes on laptop and 9 on cable?
Yes you can get a USB adaptor from Maplins - USB to NULL MODEM, a bit expensive there though. This is what you need and a better price - check it out >>>>> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-to-Serial...14&_trkparms=72:1301|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318
Hi, im having a real time of it,was hoping someone could put me right? I have been trying to update the new firmware for the eurovox max. I've followed all the steps yet keep getting the same thing, either waiting for a response from your receiver, or this firmware is unfit for your receiver, have tried all the steps on the first page but it still wont update. Can alyone please please help?
Yep using a null cable, have tried it on 3 different pc's used xp and vista, still getting same problems. Mnaged to do the eurovox pxr 5000, using the same cable and same way.
If you are getting the message along the lines of "this firmware is unfit for reciever" then it means exactly that, it is not the correct firmware for your box, you are trying to put firmware meant for the BLUE box on to a RED box or vice versa. As regards you using a USB Adaptor then it needs to be assighned to the correct COMM port, it is a common problem with the USB Adaptors so have a look here on the first page of this thread and follow the guide.
Hi there Can anyone tsll me what symbol rate i should use in Newbridge Co Kildare for chorus and do i still scan from 290 to 420Mhz. I am trying to set up a eurovox 1000sl and it only has 2 symbol rates 6952 and 6887 when you go to do a factory reset and i was told to put in symbol rate 6875 but i dont know how so any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Gazza
Go to page one of this thread gazza, and go down the page, it will show you I am in Uk but I am sure that the symbol rate is 6.875. it is quite easy when you get to the stage of doing a powerscan via the yellow button, you just alter via remote in the symbol rate box, but as said click link to first page and go down it is all there. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/674371
Thanks malci ill give it a try over the weekend as its for a mate, wouldnt mind read that first page about 10 times and it still didnt register until you pointed it out . Regards Gazza
Not a problem leeds, you are welcome, come back when you have got it if you need help, there is always someone around to help.
It does happen you tend to look behind things when you are trying to hard, so give it a go and take your time, it will work out fine. If you are not near a PC when doing it, it would be wise to do a little cut and paste and print it out, good luck.
help me i've followed the procedure to the letter but when i hit the download button it starts writing but the box display is'nt showing dnld and when it finishes it says download failed
Thanks Malci, god do I feel like an idiot, yep I was using the blue firmware instead of the red. Thanks again for your help.
You have the box on standby haven't you, and you are using the correct firmware for the box, now make sure you have a little patience when it says "downloading failed" wait for a little while before doing anything else as this is common and usually changes to "Successfull" and are you using a NULL MODEM lead on;y or an adaptor with it.
Thought so, it happens a lot, anyway you now know what that message means lol Good Luck and your welcome.
Hi Malci A friend had one gave me a loan of it .I have vista on laptop will this be a problem? i am trying to put s/ware on Eurovox 1000
Leeds You may need to install drivers and config your ports for the null modem - usb adapter to work. There are links on how to do this on here. Try this link http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/674371
