Go to page 1 of this very thread and identify your box and even get the correct firmware, courtesy of HiTeck.

Sorry it is me rushing to get out, that is for the 8% signal fix only if you need that for signal problems (if not then do not use that), also I do now see that you have the Black Max V, as said you will get the correct firmware on page 1.

Just want to say thanks malci it worked :) First eurovox I flashed so I'm happy!

It updated for me on sly sports1 for a change.

Don't know if it's just me, but I noticed from yesterday I don't have certain stations as in S*K1 and 2, BB*1,C*4 and a few others.
I usually update my boxes on S*Y2 but I'm getting no signal.
Even on my own box replay lite after a full rescan I still can't get them.
When I turned to sly2 to update the eurovox it said no signal but it updated for me on sly sports1.

Good thing is i'm sorted :)

    Cheers malci

guys, im not angry or anything, just trying this again, as i havent really been helped, and you guys probably missed it-

i downloaded the fix when the boxes went down not last saturday, the one before( the 13th December), and everyhing was working fantastic. then they all bar a few went again on Wednesday. Can someone tell me what i need to do? Has there been a new fix since then?

    THanks again folks

yes they all went down on the 17th chewball, is this the fix you have put on your box, this is for the Eurovox EX 5000 PVR I don't think that you had this fix at the time you stated, so you do need to put this one on your box okay >>>

Now I did leave you a message here >>>>
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/52/674371

So I hope this clears up the confusion, with the dates and all. because at the time that you put the firmware on your box, you did not need the UK fix in Ireland.

You can if you wish go to here and pick up the firmware for you box, courtesy of Hiteck >>>>>>>>>>

Page 1 of this thread, so I hope that the confusion is cleared up a lttle if nothing else, because no=one is ignoring your request for help/assistance.

ratsstar, glad your sorted, and pleased for you it is not a problem good luck.

Have a eurovox max v & sucessfully flashed it the last time this all happened with a null modem cable.
Now however I had to get a usb to serial connection & a gender changer. Problem is the device (usb-serial)is picked up by Win XP & set to com 3, so far so good.
I connect up & power on the box but its not discovered when th e software is run I tried the boot method & the software just says waiting for the response.
    My assumptions are as follows

    1. the serial to usb device is functioning correctly as it was picked up by Win XP.
    2. The box is OK as it still functions albeit without channels.

The device came with drivers, which I installed, then rolled back in favor of older drivers as posted on the forum.

I can only assume I have some incorrect settings

but the com port is set as follows

    Bits per second 9600
    Data bits 8
    Parity none
    Stop Bits 1
    Flow Control none

I have tested it with use FIFO buffers turned off.no use.

I am now officially headwrecked, and probably blind to something small I am missing any ideas.
Could the serial port onthe box have failed? how do I test it.

As no one seems to have null modem cables in stock I ordered one at 11.40pm last night from the UK

Turn your Bits per second up full and try again.

I successfully updated my eurovox tx with new patch, but almost all the channels cracks for unknown reason. I have tried rescanning channels several times but still same. During the crackings it blanks-out and briefly write 'scramble or bad channel'. Is anyone experiencing that? Thanks a million.

Over the past few day's I'm experiencing the same with certain channels. No matter what box I have hooked up some of my channels are breaking up and some are getting no signal. The worst freq for me is 347.500. I can't seem to scan any channels in on this even on a manual scan. I hooked up my The Box and pressed the s.l button on the control and I notices the signal strength would go to 80 odd % and then down to 0% and then back up again. It seems the signal is fluctuating bad for me on that freq for some reason.

So I'm thinking it's nothing to do with the firmware you used but the signal strength, but what's causing it I don't know :\

    Hi all
The Eurovox PVR is down again this afternoon: Same as a few weeks ago: keep getting the message "please wait... code being updated", and nothing else happening; I'm in West London, on Vir*in; is the whole of UK down? Any chance of Fix coming out soon, ie. before xmas?

    Hi Sandisc

I had that problem befor and what it turned out to be was the connection going into your eurovox. Get a shorter cable or put on a new connector.

    Hope this helps
