if it doesn't work in someone else's house it's either a tuner or firmware problem.

No thats the latest firmware for a Red. Is you incoming feed coming in upstairs? Sounds like a cable problem. Try it upstairs where the Starview is and see what its like.

HI ALL, I WAS JUST WONDERING, I HAVE A (EURO-VOX max 2006) AND ONE DAY IT JUST NEVER CAME ON, NO POWER, NOTHING. SO I PUT IT IN THE CUPBOARD AND FORGOT ABOUT IT. THEN MONTHS LATER I TRIED IT AND THE POWER CAME ON AND IT WAS OK UNTIL I TURNED IT OFF AND TRIED TO TURN IT ON THE NEXT DAY. I WAS JUST WONDERING IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO TO SORT THIS.

IF ANYONE CAN HELP THAT WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS

tried that m8....... upstairs is off the 3 way splitter and the starview works fine downstairs so its got me baffled thats why i thought it might be the s/w ......unless could it be the splitter ? but why does the star box work off it ......lent my cable out and will get it back at the w/end could it need re flashing??

Try it from the direct feed and not via a splitter. If still having a problem try it as said at a mates house. Its not a firmware issue as you are using the latest firmware. More than likely a cable or splitter problem.

No problem. When you open up the box it will be on the PSU board, have a look at the pic below, notice it is bulging here and needs replacing:

As with all electrical devices please take care when working with them.

hi sc0user, checked c14 and compared to all the rest of the components, where as the rest of the components all seem to have flat tops, c14 is more rounded at the top, is that what you mean by bulging, if so what is my options.

    thanks sc0user
