probs not! but if anyone here had a box that died without update, how long did it last?

 

tks Scouser - neighbour getting those missing channels on freq 370 so I changed my 371 to 370 but still no joy - if I cannot resolve I will try his box here and verify whether it's the box or the signal coming down the line - again many tks for help

 

Just had the frequencies verified:

274000 282000 290000 298000 306000 314000 322000 371000 386000 378000 394000 410000 426000

It looks like you have a problem with a weak signal alright.

My died after about one week of usage a day shy of the firmware update. Dont take the risk, update it asap.

 

iv 1 box dead and 1 that has the locked light on.Is therew anything that can be done to fix them boxes.Thanks in advance lads

 

Is it a 2008 box ? you can always jtag it and upload the new software

 

You can only jtag it with the red tsop as the black one has not been read as of yet. So in essence you will have a black box with red firmware and you will be unable to load any Max V firmware to it. But I suppose its better than a brick until the black tsop is read.

 

I disagree i have been in the same boat as darraghke what you need to do is connect the cable for the jtag erase the chip i had to do this twice and then reload the software for eurovox 2008 , this is of course if he has a 2008 model

 

im clueless about this.What is jtag,how do i perform this.What do i need.im in Dublin if that helps.I have 2 2008 boxes.Any info welcome.thanks

The black tsop has not been read and as such you have no image to write to the box if you have all the info can you post the black tsop image as no one else across all forums has this as yet. Also skymax will not work on a 2008 models with an intel chipset.

i will do a tutorial later on as i have just flashed another 2008 box this morning , also i loaded the Dublin channel data file just to see if it worked in Limerick and guess what ?it works 127 channels , i have a friend in galway and am going to ask him to do the same just to see .

the black tsop what ver is that is it 2.10 ?

 

Sorry flash with the red tsop no black tsop yet but it will get the box working until the black tsop is released

 

hi, return to dealer came up on the box and now it will not power on at all. The guy will replace the box, but I am wondering if i can fix it myself, I have all the cables etc.

Thanks bud but we have a coulpe of tuts here already you will find one in the SV/EV Info link at the bottom of my post, I also have the method for the intel chipset. I was trying to say that you can basically turn your black box into a red box until the black tsop, we already have a thread on that http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/564480#3415784.

You should have 140 channels using the Dublin cdf but your transponder info has been changed since the 06/09/07 if you are on N** post back and I will give you the info you need.

What i was trying to say is i am in limerick but used the channel dump file for Dublin and it worked with Ch**us in limerick , Ch**us has been bought by N*l and it seems that they are using the same transponder freq , so for anyone in Limerick i would advise use the dump file for dublin to quickly set up your box , admitely the boxes that i have flashed are using the red tsop but are working when the black tsop appears i will flash with that , i was left in a situation from a supplier that did not want to know when my box went blank so i had to figure out how to bring it back to life , i would advise anyone who has a black 2008 box that goes into standby to jtag with the red tsop just to get it working then reflash with the black tsop provided its not a clone when it is released

 

Thanks bud but regarding the UPC, (who took over both N** and Cho****), transponder frequencies not all of them are the same even to a localised point as in all Ch**** frequencies are not the same e.g,Cork is somewhat different to Dublin even Kildare has different frequencies in some areas. We could go on about the black tsop but it is still not read. Your statement black tsop provided its not a clone is somewhat confusing what do you mean by that? The tsop is the bios.
