Can I just day a big THANK YOU to phil43 for starting this thread and for providing information about the fix that has turned out to be reliable.
Phil43, in your opinion and using the contacts that you have, would you know / be able to find out if there will be a fix for the Max V boxes or the older Max Red ones.

don't know how many times this will be asked but there will be no more fixes for max ,red or blue like starview etc they are not updateing older boxes due to the amount of clone boxes been sold over the years only hope is that someone with the knowledge will do a fix but this has been down to one guy in the past and he says no ,so you can bin your old box or try to sell in the uk

,...it will be asked many times again,..like kids in the back seat of the car "are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet?"... anyway by now you all got your moneys worth out of the MAX series,..time to invest in a new box ;-)

you better belive it,..people with 2 year old boxes feel they have been DONE since N2 hit, the boxes paid for them selfs over & over again since they first bought them.

my advice would be to use a trusted seller for your next box & make sure to ask how long it will be supported with upgrades,..but it's a tough question to answer because in many ways it's down to what the cable companys do going forward.
