    WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW............

This thread has all but dried up now...............:-(

Been away for a while but it looks like the F1 season this year has started and still continues to be dominated by the prancing horse...............and also IMHO - a tad boring.............

So lets liven it up a bit, it maybe boring on the track but lets get some good bantering going again.....just like last season (it was good)

nik99, if your there, cmon - last season was good with you popping in carrying the flag for KR.....I know Maclaren have fallen this season, but there is still plenty of time to get back in it, especially with the new car coming for the British Grand Prix.....

I am in a unique position (avid Ferrari fan), but I want Button (and the BAR) to conquer the Ferrari stampede...........

The Williams team I think is all over the place due to both drivers emigrating next season, but JM is still battling, unfortunately RS seems to be at the centre of the frequent race incidents - maybe his fault, maybe not...............any thoughts????????

The Renaults are to'ing and fro'ing but STILL remain the best starters of the Grand Prix.......

What do you think about these new regs..........do you think the qualifying is going to end up back at where it started.............12 laps, it looks like it to me...............

    Catch you laters................

Paul : Good to see you back matey :)

Well nik & I have been having some serious F1 banter on IRC lately [come on over btw , the IRC server/channel are in my sig...PM me if you have any questions bruv].

It's fekkin' great to see Jenson Button having a good car under him ... Ive always spoke up for him , where as quite a few off my mates dis him for being stuck up or arrogant.
I always make the point of that you're gonna seem arrogant if in the world of F1 ... cos of the fact you 'could' die whilst doing it [just for starters].
Anyway as to Ferrari leading the way , it's probably down to their consistant engines & parts not failing that is whats made the FIA talk about making an engine last 6 races as of 2006 [or something like that ... not absolutely sure on time scale as its only speculation atm anyway I think].
I can see Michael Schumacher retiring next year ... end of the season next yr that is , as for his brother Ralf ... does he even deserve a seat in the Honda next year ? [lmao]

Right I gotta go to an interview ... will talk more later .. arrive derci !!

    Ayup, herbs.....how are things?????

Hope your interview went ok, have you put the Mod status on your CV?...LOL....seriously though, it could give you some brownie points......

Geared for Euro 2004.......I bet you have the St Georges crosses on show......LOL

I did on my car, but the bastards round our estate went on a thieving rampage - 34 flags stolen overnight, well I am just lying in wait for them now....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering where the locals were and had a feeling you maybe hanging out on IRC......

Have not even looked at setting that up yet, as I have had no time at all recently......bloody life.....will look into it soon......

Yes, I am really routing for Jenson this season, but finding it difficult due to the Ferrari allegiance....

If there was a driver of the year and team of the year (irrespective of points situation at the mo') you would have to seriously consider Jenson and the BAR team....
Although Ferrari are still showing their dominance - no matter what the FIA are introducing, Ferrari seem to be able to respond.....

Your right about Ralph though, man, the spark has just fizzled, he just doesn't seem to have the heart anymore - or is there something amiss in the Williams camp?, you'd think he would be pushing Franks wheelchair everywhere - to stay and get No.1 driver place......but I think the shits flying around there at the moment, so who knows what will happen.....

Anyways, Montreal - followed by England......super weekend, kick back crack open the tins, spark up a sheba and sit comfortably...........hopefully we'll all have a good one......

    Catch you later............

Button seems to be making quite a name for himself lately, which is always good. I dont know why but i think Schumy is slipping, maybe he's just worn out by now, the flare is gone. yes he still is a great driver, I just think maybe he has run his course and it soon will be time to hang it up.
Is anyone going to the USGP? If so, let me know, i'll meet you down there.

    Well that was certainly different.............

Looks like Ralph has been here to afterdawn and read a few threads....LOL

Well, he suddenly answered some questions at least....

However, there maybe a restart cos due to Ralph's track record - he could take out every car upto tenth place, going off his previous adventures..LOL

What are Ferrari playing at, well off the pace - strategy or not capable?????????????

Well Jenson, if the door was ever open for you, I think this is the best chance, both Ferrari's behind, just the lightining Renaults to fend off and the (ooh, thats what wing mirrors are for) Ralph Linebacker.......

Should be a good one, hard on brakes, hammering the top speeds - hard on the engines (hey, Maclaren did you hear me [bold]hard on the engines[/bold]

C'mon Ferrari, show us your cards - we know they are there....

Good luck Jenson, give the Brits a good start to the evening and show our footballers how to kick some real ass................................

A couple of hrs to go til race & I'm off to McDonalds to take advantage of Big Mac Meal (w/ free extra Big Mac) offer... lol

Yeah Ralf must have looked in on the best web site around (here) & taken note of certain ppl's comments [tee-hee] ... cos he did do the business in quals ... as I 'had' thought that Jenson had done a stunning lap time & felt sure it wasn't to be beaten.
But as top bloke Murray Walker used to say "unless Im very much mistaken , Oh and I am very much mistaken" (hehehe silly old fart but we still loves him).
Im hoping that Jenson can just get thru the first few corners/bends w/out an incident even if he is in 2nd for a little while ... cos I happen to think that BAR have probably got a better set up than Ralf's Williams.
So if thats the case we will know after Jensons first pit stop :)

The Ferraris are 'well' suffering at this track ... which is a bit of a mystery ... unless they are well fat on fuel strategy (?)

Anyway ...World Superbikes is on TV so I'm off : ]-~

    *[bold]C'mon Jenson !!![/bold]*

Jenson Button gets third place after Ralf has been disqualified [in Stewards inquiry] - it'll do .. all the more points for our brit boy ;-)

I guessed Ferrari were going fairly fat on fuel & that was reason for pace in qulas Saturday [lol]... Michael is still the best driver , but Rubens was certainly pushing his tail pipe Sunday [heheh]

I bet the McLaren boys cant wait for their new T18-19 or whatever ... think I heard it mentioned they might well be using it in USGP (not sure of that tho)

Off to order more DVD boxes & paraphenalia - ttfn

    Yep............

Irrespective though, Ralph did have a good race - didn't take anyone out....LOL

It just seemed like the Ferrari's new 'exactly what they were doing - they only had the pace when the fuel was depleting....

2nd race in a row where they haven't gone with the conventional pit strategy - and it worked.......I think the other teams will now be looking even closely at the Ferrari startegy for Indianapolis....

KR had a storming race - what was it, pitted 5 times, 3 steering wheels, and a drive through penalty and still received some points - hopefully that will give KR and the team a nice confidence boost going into Indianapolis, and if they do have the new car - maybe we shall see the Maclaren challenging for the front spots........

Shame about the Renaults, it looked like they were going to have a good race - but again reliabilty raised it's head.....

Jenson just wasn't there - where did his pace go from qualifying????????????????

Sato does it again, if there was a trophy for the best engine shafting - then he would get it.......do you thik he ever uses the rev limiter....LOL

nik99, I agree with it being boring - even though I back the horses......................we still need some excitement, we need some hard close racing, I remember the Hakkinnen/schumacher racing - that is what we need again.....

Still are Maclaren turning the corner, a successful weekend - can they keep it up......hope so.....then there will be 8 cars battling for the front.....

Are well only 4 days to go, what does everyone think about the new qualifying that will be introduced for the British Grand prix?

Two 25 minute sessions with 6 laps - free for all......seems like eventually they will get back to the One session 12 laps again.......!!!!!!

Still another change, should produce some more different results............

Anyways 4 days to go for the US, and I do not feel Ferrari will be victors here - either Montoya or (hopefully) Jenson.......

    Ciao.......

I have just about offically lost all interest in this year's F1.

Being an Aussie, I'm sick to death of Mark Webbber not going anywhere, or more to the point of friggin unreliable Jaguar.
What's more, anytime the car's good, the bad luck just seems to run thick.

Sorry just had to have a quick rant.

Just got back from Montreal (fantastic, as usual) what a weekend!
Thank god the world is sticking together on this no-tobacco thing.
I went to the first Indy US GP in 2000, got a tshirt, not going back.
Montreal is like Monte Carlo, but Indianapolis is like, I dunno mostly strip bars, pawn shops, tattoo parlours and Kwik-E-marts, and the track sucks (for F1). The cars seem lost in this enormous 'bowl' and they actually seem small, and quiet (wouldn't believe it myself if I wasn't there).
Too bad we don't have 150,000 F1 fans camped at the gates of Road America Wisconsin (a real world-class road course) or even Laguna Seca.
But nothing beats our National Park in the middle of the St.Lawrence river - an island with a subway!
My hearing is now starting to return (and I wear protection) Some bozo had all his little kids at the fence, cars 15 feet away @ full throttle 300kph, no hearing protection! Can you say 'permanent, irreversable hearing damage'? I scowled at him but he just shrugged.
The most glorious, wonderful sound in the world, but I wouldn't trade it for future lip-reading.
And, who cares who wins? The cars are the stars...
    Regards

hahaahahahaahahha, man you dont know how right you are. I see it every day so it's no big deal to me. I can't imagine what your impression of Indy was. In all fairness though, the part of town where the track is is pretty old and run down. For the most part It's ok really, but yes we do love our strip bars, tattoo parlors, pawn shops, and kwiki-marts.

See, you go to the strip club and spend all your money and get a tattoo of the stripper's name on your arm because you're "in love" with her, then go to the pawn shop to sell stuff so you can pay the bills, while paying those bills you can stop by one of the many strategicly placed kwiki-marts to grab a pack of smokes and industrial strength condoms.
so you see, we meant to make Indy like this :)
