    hey thanks [bold]TheReturn[/bold], but i figured it out, i ftp'd the XML file from the C:/XBMC/ folder to my pc, then i made a backup copy of it, then opened it up and edited the <home> tag to read where the "XBMC" folder was located on the xbox A.K.A. the "C:/XBMC/" folder... the code that i edited was "<home>C:\XBMC\</home>"...

    @TheReturn, I really appreciate you taking out the time to help me STEP BY STEP, thanks for all the help... i have been trying to get this to work for months... everybody that you help are really gonna miss having you around... thanks agian...

    I think this thread should be a sticky... I know people are having problems with this because i have seen & heard nothing but complaining (including myself) and no solutions being found and no problems being solved... Well here it is.... the solution to peoples XBMC problems...

    hey TheReturn, i am encountering a VERY BIG problem, since i got XBMC working i was able to FTP over some 3 pics and 1 mp3, i tested them and they work flawlesly... BUT, i tried to FTP back into the xbox and ITS NOT WORKING!!! Im freaking out! whats going on... i tried another thread that the guy was having the same problem as me, but it didnt work for me... so can you please help me... i would really like to get started FTPing agian...

    why you have so much problem? Load evox to do ftp not XBMC.

    i am loading evox... its not working, the same way that i was always doing it is how im doing it now but it aint working...

    what happen now.
    YOu only insert 1 line for XBMC code and evox mess up?

    Can you still ftp? Evox still load as a default dashboard?
    Xmbc still work?

    but i do not know whats wrong with it... everytime i try to connect now it says....

    Default Gateway - Blank
    DNS Server - Blank

    that is why.
    Change IP address on PC to 192.168.0.1
    then connect again

    its still not working are you sure thats what im supposed to do... or should i change the default gateway on my pc to 192.168.0.1, well either way it still isnt connecting...

    make sure firewall off
    and use STATIC

    i dont have a firewall and it is set to static... the setup i have is a router to my xbox with ethernet, & my pc to router wirelessly... thats when it was working... so i dont know whats going on know....

    Default Gateway - Blank
    DNS Server - Blank

    On my XBOX its...

    IP Address - 192.168.0.3
    Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway - 192.168.0.2
    DNS - 0.0.0.0
    DNS - 0.0.0.0

    xbox to port 1 with ethernet cable
    pc to port 2 with ethernet cable
    ON same router.

    then connect.

    ok i still am not connected, and i dont know whats going on but when i use the setup mentioned above... including my wireless, and two ethernet connections on ENABLED at the same time, i get this...

    Your Firewall software is on.. Turn it off. Keep looking.. I had a similar problem previously.. and once I disabled my firewall software, everything connected smoothly.

    where do i go to turn it off... is it under start > control panel > Security Center, and then turn off the firewall? cuz thats what i did... are there anymore firewalls that would be on my PC? oh yeah and i am running WinXP Home...
