I'm going to be writing a FAQ for this forum, which should be useful, both for visitors looking for quick information and regular posters who want to simply link to a sticky thread rather than typing the same response for the 10th time this week. In addition to providing answers, it will provide links to additional Afterdawn content, and perhaps be the basis for future guides or glossary entries.

In order to get the faq started I thought I'd get some suggestions from our members. I'm looking for a list of questions that either are or should be asked about HDTVs and HDTV technology. What questions do you answer over and over again, and what questions should people be asking that they're not? Feel free to link to threads with good answers as well.

Any suggestions for either the FAQ or any additional sticky threads is welcome.

I'll update this as much as possible but, here's a few to start off:

People ask this quite a bit.

    Another one.

Also, maybe adding the different type of audio/video connections and what you will get out of them. Like HDMI vs component or HDMI vs toslink.

Vurbal, here is another one you might want to add to the Buying FAQ.

Thanks for the excellent suggestions. It may be a few days before I have a chance to get anything more done on the FAQs but rest assured I'll be back to it soon.

The question I'm asked most is

What is the difference between LCD and Plasma?

This question's answer needs to be updated as both technologies are getting better every year.

    also...

Should I get and video calibration?

    Does screen size matter?

    Ced
