Alright peeps here's the thing...im tryin to install a game on me puter an every time i get to a specific bit on the dvd (cab4.cab) I get a data error (cyclic redundancy check). Ive trawled through a few forums an found out this means teh disc is either damaged or dirty, now heres the thing. Cleaned the disc usin proper cleaner an cleaned me dvd lens so there all sparklin...The disc works fine on me mates puter so the disc isn't damaged.. Would really appreciate any help folks could give on this one Im runnin a Benq DW1620 wi the B7C9 firmware. A t first I thought maybe upgrade teh firmware but since im a noob not really sure wich one to get an how to do it. Tried the benq website but thats about as much good as a flea fart in a hurricane
The disc can work on players but still be dirty. Could be a bad press from the factory. Try: http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/50 http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/118 http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/112 For those forums have mostly gamers on their. If the game is obviously clean then its just damaged. "...flea fart in a hurricane", Yes, I can see how that happens
