O.k my xbox stays on a error 06, and i cant hotswap or anything. I know that i am doin it right cause wen i look in the device manager, I see the xbox HDD in there. I have my original EEPROM, but i dont know what to do cause i cant get the password of it eeprom with liveinfo....says its not a valid v1.0 or v1.1 thingy. I keep hearing that i can fix it with a boot disc such as AID r something....but how wud that work if it needs the xbox to boot w/ the hard drive in WORKING condition (locked)

hey will Shademand's Ready Made Xbox SoftMod work on a pal xbox?

 

i know i can ftp i have that set up on the xbox ver 1.0 but im planning on getting rid of it b/c i dont need 2 of them but will shademands softmod work on my ver 1.6 with hot swap method????? b/c ive heard that it only works on ver 1.0-1.5 and i also wanted to ask about how do i get the games to play that i ftp and where do i send them sorry im a newbie at all this but thanks alot for your tuts!!!!

If you got your original EEPROM you should be able to unlock and lock your HHD using xboxhdm and even reformat and start from scrap and put your HHD back to it's original state or use shademand's ready made xbox softmod, so go and download shademand's ready made xbox softmod and try it.

thats wat i used. I typed in the wrong password to lock it, and now it cant b unlocked. There is a firmware hack to restore a particular HDD back to original settings but my HDD is the seagate ST31001.

Don't feel too bad, I got an 80G HHD that I lock in the early stage of learning how to softmod my Xbox, the password I misplace it, and now the HHD is sitting on my desk, I haven't try to find out how to get it on lock.

As I told you that to lock the hdd with xboxhdm1.9 and using the original eeprom.bin

NOw you have to unlock the hdd first. Then use xboxhdm to lock it again.

yea the thing is with regime is that he locked his hdd with a random password using hdlock and now he cant hotswap to unlock it i was thinking he would prob need to use a mod chip to fix this

 

In this case, he would get a new hdd Or find a way to unlock this hdd.

If he gets modchip, that is great.
