I can't back up my dvds into a DVD+R and still be able to see them in my dvd player. I can compress the file and watch it on the DVD on my living room using DVD Shirnk, but the image starts to get distorted and in the long run it just fails, and on my other DVD is just plain and simple doesn't work it says "No Disc".
Make sure that you are using good quality discs first of all. Tayo Yuden, Verbatim, etc. Secondly make sure that you are not burning too close to the edge of the disc. Set the target at around 4300.
Good point, I found that alot of the new players will play just about anything but my 7 year old Toshiba will only play commercial dvds. Occasionally it will recognize and play discs burned in the -R format. I personally only burn in +R so that does me no good. It won't even play burned cds.
If you have a DVD burner that is capable you can "booktype" DVD+R disks to DVD-ROM type. Then your DVD player may be able to read it. See this thjead; http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/277740 Also do a search on 'booktype' in this forum for other relavent threads. regards
Ok i compressed it to 4300 MB at i'm able to watch them on my dvd but in the living room dvd the "distotion" problem still persists
The discs will play fine for a while, and then start with digital noise blocks, eventually even just failing to play. Also i tried the Booktyping but when i tried to load and burn a file using the decrypter this message appeared "Invalid or unsoported file format!
you can only burn an iso image w/ decrypter! the booktyping should help w/ the player that won't recognize the disk as far as the the noise these are artifacts produced by compression are you using quality settings or try reauthoring to remove some previews and "junk" so you can use less compression!
A slower burn speed increases the quality of the end product. Some drives are capable of higher speed burns, but you will need to experiment to see what speed works best for you. Just because you have a Ferrari that will go 200MPH doesn't mean you'll drive 200MPH to the store around the corner... LocoEng, Love that comparison about the Ferrari @ 200 mph. Another comparison is...Going from NYC to LA. You can get from point A to point B, but you will miss a lot of details in between. You will get there, but you missed the site seeing places.
