    @tactics
    you cant, if you read my post i did tell you to go to the swap magic website http://www.swapmagic3.com and get the SMBOOT.ZIP file then follow the instructions there to get it all working. when youve done all that you can use SM3.3 original to load elfs from the memory card.

    @lt1rs
    You need 3-4MB of free space.
    122kb? you said it was brand new?? sounds to me like your using a PS1 memory card... as I stated on the first page, YOU need to use a PS2 Memory Card. only PS2 cards will work with the exploit, not PS1.

    @kaily
    Its possible

    Will the Action Replay Max and whatever USB memory work for putting the essential files on the MC or does it have to be the EVO edition?

    Hello.

    I've tried to read the very extensive thread and i have one problem with this setup.

    If i burn image the way it is. my swap magic will boot the disc and install the files.

    If i try to replace the title.db file with the one that was linked on the tutorial swap magic will not run.

    can someone please explain to me what i am doing wrong.

    EDIT: after re-reading the tutorial and some of the posts i have made sure that i have title.db in all caps and the one file that needs the lba adjusted in the correct area but it still doesn't work.

    I hope that narrows some of the possiblilites down.

    Also my Swap magic version is 2.0 if that helps

    Edit: I have one last idea what is the LBA for the dummy folder? i've seen on page 10 that the files should be a certain LBA but don't list the DUMMY folder's LBA.

    Another idea is that Could someone be nice enough just to post a working cd image file that has the title.db (the one with 800 games in it) already included and ready to burn.

    I've burned about 25+ cd-rs and the only one that works is the orginal keylauncher image file, but that won't work because it doesn't have any slus of any game.

    You need the evo edition which supports usb devices...

    But according to the specs, Action Replay Max supports USB as well, however it does not contain an USB-stick.

    "With Action Replay MAX, the PlayStation 2 suddenly becomes the centre of your digital lifestyle, with exciting new functionality including MP3, MPEG, CD-R compatibility, [bold]USB Flash drive support[/bold], PS2 online chat and even a retro-games emulator. "

    The AR MAX is on sale at my local store for 10$ but the Evo is full price. That's why. :)

    question:

    why is system.cnf needed to be in the FILES folder if the orginal independence iso does not have it in the FILES folder and it works.

    I'm trying to narrow down the issue I have because i don't want to waste anymore cd-rs

    EDIT: I finally got it to work with the 800 title.db file.

    What i did was put the orginal independence iso on a cd. then i loaded up cdps2gen and moved the files from the cd to the program and then added the 800 TITLE.DB modified the LBA as listed on page 10 and saved as a cue/bin file. then i burned at 4x using nero.

    thankyou l-burna for this tutorial.

    L-Burna,
    This is where I got confused:

    /FILES/BOOT.ELF (KL)This should be the KL.ELF file which you can get from the keylauncher V0.3 .rar file.It should have a KL.ELF file and a KL.DAT file that fixes some problems.The way you use the KL.ELF file is retype it to say BOOT.ELF file which will boot your apps off the memory card.

    Are you just supposed to not worry about this and grab the ps2menu.elf file and rename it to BOOT.elf? And then keep the KL.DAT file.

    Also is there anyway I can get it to boot off of a PS2 Rainbox Six game? Is so how do I change the KL.DAT to reflect it? That is the only original game I have ever had. I use Swap Magic by the way.

    YOU SAID: you cant, if you read my post i did tell you to go to the swap magic website http://www.swapmagic3.com/ and get the SMBOOT.ZIP file then follow the instructions there to get it all working. when youve done all that you can use SM3.3 original to load elfs from the memory card.

    I have Swap Magic, so what do you mean by use the original to load elfs from the memory card.

    ??You take the SM3.3 I have, stick it in, if I have already installed the SMBOOT.ZIP and followed the directions, then I can load elfs from the memory card. Are you saying I don't need to use a PS1 game? And the SM3.3 will take me to the ps2menu.elf (renamed to BOOT.ELF). So then when I put in my SM3.3 disc it will become my trigger disc?

    I was replying to tacticz, telling him to use the original smd and not a backup copy.

    I have not tested the SMBOOT exploit method but it seems fairly simple and should work.

    YES thats exactly what im saying...if you have the new SM3.3 you dont need to use a ps1 game.

    hmm, read here:

    if I have already installed the SMBOOT.ZIP and followed the directions, then I can load elfs from the memory card. Are you saying I don't need to use a PS1 game?

    Since I cannot buy PS1 game in HK, can I use smboot.zip and do not need PS1 game. I tried to burn a CD which which can boot SMBOOT and in MC0, I can see all programs were installed accouding to the readme file said. However, I do not konw how to lauch the installed progrom.

    Plase help with more detail since I am a new comer for this subject.

    Thanks
