I wish I would have seen these other posts before I answered him so damn many times in this thread.

Can't believe my patience didn't run out before that. But it has now.

How in the hell they make it to junior member and still type like that is beyond me.

Hardly incoherent or stupid. Just a warning. An odd thing to create a thread about perhaps, but I don't see anything wrong with it.

My point is why try and bugger up a device with an unknown entity? I kinda find it sad when people try something ripped off which doesn't work, but at least in this case he seems to accept his outcome.

It made me smile.. I saw a topic posted about 3 days ago.. and plastered everywhere that you can't upgrade unless you are a registered developer... I don't even want one of these "lifestyle ripoff" devices and I know that...

my old nokia does me just fine.. it makes calls and sends texts.. what else does anybody need?

Indeed, offensive & pointless phones that cost as much as an old car (rant!).
A Nokia, hark at the modern phone user there :p
..i'm using an old Moto Razr V3 (dropped in pond edition, still works just doesn't vibrate anymore), though if i didn't have that i'd be happily using some old Nokia or other, i'm the same, as long as i can hear and speak and send basic texts (none of those pointless MMS or whatever they're called, just basic texts).

And don't get me started on the incoherent abomination that is predictive text - Text speak on forums is like a blessing compared to that utterly incoherent pap :)

edited for incoherence is crap spelling

Motorola V3 Razr, best phone ever, now there is nothing out there comparable. All the new ones come bundled with add on services which you don't need which triple your phone bill. Give it up telecoms, give us back the simple phones, no more smart phone blackberry monstrosities.

2year Nokia works fine. My daughter had same model and dropped it in the toilet during Gustav-survived, and then, where she is Chef, let it vibrate itself into the red sauce-didn't survive the sauce. We have texting disabled. We just want a phone! AT&T hates us-3phones on plan. We share mins, have 1000 rollovers and pay 72 buck a month.

I like my t-mobile G1 smartphone. I use my web browser to surf the net (and of course post here!!), check my e-mail, and read the news.....all the time I'm supposed to be "working". I have an unlimited data plan that allows me to stay online as long as I want. Just waiting to see if the come out with a program I can use my mobile as a modem, and connect it to my lappy to surf the net and really add to my data useage.

My phone is fairly simple. Casio GZ'One. It's a tough piece of machinerey which is why i picked it up. I'm pretty rough on phones. :)

my phone is hardwired or cordless. don't want a cell phone as i deal to much with technology as it is. i also worked on nokia cell phones back 2000 when working at celestica, still have some nokia parts up in the 3rd floor of our house.

My eldest daughter (bless her modern little heart) took me with her yesterday to pick up her newest must have. A motorola "hiptop slide" q700. It has unlimited net browsing, mms, sms, and more useless rubbish, all "to keep your busy social life going" or so it says on the box..hahahaha
Me...an old nokia 6300, text and talk and nothing else gets used. And as creaky says that predictive text is hideous. Say that you don't use it to a young person and they look at you like you fell out of a tree.
    EDIT: spelling

My eldest daughter has a Sidekick, nothing but a glorified text messaging machine. Rarely if ever uses it for phone calls, mainly for texting, IM'ing and posting on facebook. Has anyone ever scrolled thru their kids messages? nothing but useless lol and other text speak. No real conversations at all.
