Hello guys, after some days I could use DVD Shrink for making a copy of one anime Dvd I got. Unfortunately it also failed. I bought a DVD lens cleaner, I bought those Taiyo Yuden DVDs but still it keeps failing (yesterday it surprisingly burnt ok but it happen only once, ever since it is failing again). Here is the log from DVD Shrink, maybe it is useful...

    Thanks for your help!!

I will take a quick glance at your log, as i am at work, and on break, but will do what i can.
if your burner is external that ? is ok. If it is internal, that is not ok.
the firmware looks up to date, unless you have a Victor laptop, and that firmware is K104.
until things get straightend out, you should set your target size to 4300 as that way you will not burn to the edge of the disc (where dye coverage can be spotty on some media brands) For Nero, it may be under the options setting for the drive in the burn screen, or under the More tab. You can set the target to Custom, and enter in 4300.
drive isn't completly recognizing the media.
it says you tried to burn on a DVD-ROM disc. Some burners can do this, i am not sure that yours can. Also pre-recorded DVDs show up as DVD-ROM, so that disc might not have been blank.
Check out this link for ASPI problems and fixes.
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/259118
If you can run Nero Info Tool, check each drive using the ASPI tab. I show a screen shot in the linked thread. Bad or corrupted ASPI can cause all kinds of problems. A friend of mine had corrupted system ASPI, and could burn DVDs but not CDs. ???? I fixed his system ASPI, and now it burns everything. That could be your main problem. That and media being used. Use good media like Verbatim, Sony, Maxell, Fuji MIJ. They should id properly, and Nero should like them better than what you have been using.
Check out that other thread, and fix your system ASPI. Then try burning using better media. I don't see any other problems in you last log other than what i listed. Post back if you still have problems. It may take me a day or two to reply.

    hey

i've been having the same problem so i checked to see if my aspi drivers were corrupted so i used to nero and they were all good but the drivers were from 99 so i thought i'd update them and now that i have, nero info tool shows the the first 2 (winaspi32.dll and aspi32.sys) have been updated but the other 2 (winaspi.dll and wowpost.exe) are still from 99 and at the bottom of the window it says ASPI installation is corrupted!

    any ideas?
