According to VM site, there was an issue being worked from 12-14 Oct, which was to resolve freezing issues.

I however, have lost all channels apart from free ones since the evening of 14th. Since noone else has posted, I suspect that the issue is at my end.

I do not have a nul connector on my laptop so I am using a usb adapter. I would be really grateful if you could give me any advise as to how to get over this. Cheers K

Read the tutorial under E45s signature (KRYPTVIEW TUTORIAL) - Were you are probably going wrong is as follows, when you are ready to flash the box and have the firmware in the loader, before pressing the START tab, switch the box off at the back, then press START, count to 3 and switch the box back on again, you should then see it downloading, you do not need to have it connected to the cable feed or NET just PC only, you only connect to NET when you have scanned everything in okay.

I really appreciate the help folks but still no luck I am using vista and it took ages to get the com port to be recognised everything seems to be ok now apart from the same message appearing everytime I try to update the box. The kryptview is straight out of the box should I have done anything to it first before I tried to flash the upgrade? Thanks everyone. K

CFC, have you tried connecting the box to your TV and scanning for channels.
Had the exact same problem myself a few weeks back, spent a few hours pulling my hair out trying to flash the software on the box but kept getting the exact same messages as you.
In the end connected it to the TV scanned for channels and 'hey presto' all there!
The firmware must've already been loaded onto the box by the supplier.
Just wish they'd put a note in with the box to save me all the hassle at the time.
If it does work, just check the latest version of software is on the box, if it's not update through the menu.
    Hope this helps.

I got really excited when I saw your advice and followed what you said the box looked and found the channels but they are all scrambled so I guess the new boxes cannot be upgraded I bought mine from yourcablebox. I have tried again but still the same message I cn find the latest version on the box but I cannot find how to upgrade whilst still connected to the TV. I am really fed up, still lesson learn't. I do really appreciate all your help. K

Okay m8, sorry this didn't work for you, worth a try though.
When you connect the box to your TV are you connecting the LAN cable to your modem as well?
The channels won't unscramble unless your connected.
