I'm trying to rip a 130 minute film (8 and a half by Federico Fellini if anyone was wondering) and it says it'll take almost three hours!

    What's with this?

I'm on a 600 mhz 128mb Apple iBook g3. I just bought an external hard drive worth 160 GB.

Also, I compressed my DVD and put it in toast and, right as I was about to burn, it said "Not enough space" even though I have a 160 GB new hard drive and it said it only needed 4.8. But I thought I had converted it to 4.3 Gb (4444mb)??

    What's the deal?

    Thanks!

Well that machine isn't a speed demon by any means. But I have an old G3/300 that can rip a dvd9 in 15-30min. Something isn't quite right.

    Try tweaking your system....rebuild permissions.

I'm not a computer whiz by any means so what exactly should I do to tweak my system?

Thanks for all of your help!
