Hi, I'm in Dublin and have been using the box for about 6 months now.

Firstly a few of my channels went missing about 5 weeks ago, mainly channel 4, film 4, sky one. Has this happened everyone or does anyone know how to get them back?

Also my hard drive is nearly full so i want to record some of me films onto disc. I have a recordable DVD player but don't know much about what connections i need. Do i need to create these DVD's through a laptop or can I do it straight thru the DVD recorder?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated

You need to do a factory reset, turn auto update back on and scan for channels to get them all back. In regards to guides there are a few in Eamos at the end of my post.

jbvideo is the PVR guy he is usually more than happy to help, although I cannot ask him as he will answer this if he sees it.

    Hi there
You have been out of it haven't you, We lost Sky one about 8 or 9 months ago when Rupert and Richard had words, and Rupert said no to Sky one.
Do as sc0user says to get your channels back first, then get yourself a scart lead and connect it between your Starview's scart output (at the back) and the DVD recorder's scart input, press play on the PVR and record on the DVD Recorder. You can also connect a scart lead from either the other DVD recorders scart socket or the other PVR's scart socket to the TV to see what you are recording.

    Hi there,

I've tried the factory reset which worked fine but now can't get any of the channels back. I followed instructions and have downloaded firmware onto my laptop. The question i have is how do i get the firmware from my laptop to PVR Box? (cables etc...) apologies for being a bit ignorant here but just never really deal with this sort of stuff.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    thanks

    Hi
Use the eko.4shared link at the bottom of sc0users post like he asked, and read the read me files (ALL OF THEM)in the Starview PVR documentation folder, you need a 'Null Modem Cable' to transfer from your PC to the Starview PVR, use the popular auction site or your local PC shop if you don't have one.

Hey, just updated firmware on my box pvr. I got all 160 odd channels through ntl but all of them are scrambled or bad channel (T1).

Any idea how to fix this?

Welcome back Liamo, we were waiting on the other thread to assist you further: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/52/663923

Ok next thing you need to do is press menu, press 1570 then turn EMU on, go to Sly spots and wait for it to update, we could have told you that earlier, if you waited!

Hi Des ;) the auto update key on the PVR differs.

The OP needs to go to parental control in receiver menu
    press ( i or info button) + (2007)
auto update should now be visible
switch auto update to on position.

Although it will never work unless the OP does what you and Karl have asked them to do ;)
