   Although mtr 3.0 and 2.6 work almost faultlessly, lately I have had two dvds in a row where 3.0 crashed or read bad vectors and 2.6 with the same movie claimed it was finished in about 5 minutes..but of course it wasn't. what might be going on??!

   Instead of using "Full Disc Extraction" mode, try "Main Feature Extraction."
