    2 hours to burn a DVD is way off as there has to be a problem w/ the burner. A burn at 4X takes about 13-15 minutes. Your burner has to be burning below 1X for a burn to take that long

    In Shrink When you hit backup> Burn Setting and input the speed

    In Nero ( recode) after you put the Compilation in the correct line you hit next and the speed settings are there. Just set the burn speed

    The program controls the burn speed. If there is no speed controls in the program then it is controlled by the blank media rated speed

    does anyone know if the dyson hub printable discs from blankdvdmedia.ca are any good or not. I was thinking of ordering some they have 100 of those discs with 100 black cases and 6 epson R300 cartridges for 84.99 canadian seems like a good deal, IF THE DISC ARE GOOD.

    Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced

    @Car.Mike
    I think when he said the thing about 2 hours I think he was talking about the ENTIRE burn process, analysis, encryption etc, because if he's burning at above 4x there is no possible way that burning time it above 10 mins. regardless of size.

    ANNNNNNNND Glueeater, i just tried to burn a dvd with fuji dvd-r's and it cant read the dvd about 1/2 way through the movie, i about threw the burner against the wall, this is sooooooo frustrating pretty much.
    SO, i burned with crappy media, so i changed the media, you say i burn to fast but how is that possible when it takes 2 hrs to burn a dvd? This whole thing is pretty much worthless right now, does anybody have any suggestions

    I honestly don't know what the problem is, I don't see how it can take 2 hours if you are burning at 8x. This should take you about 8 minutes. Nothing really affects burn speed, it's what you set it at.

    I don't like the fact that it takes 1 1/2 hours to analyze, how long is encoding then? That's usually longer than analaze stage.

    DVDLUV,
    After you replace it come back and let us know what the times are. The burner has to be bad. If it is an external burner then before you send it back check the USB or Firewire connection and card to make sure they are good

    DVDLUV,
    Does your computer have 2.0 usb ports. You can go into Device Manager and expand "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" and check the Properities of one of the Usb ports and it will tell you there if it is 2.0.
