NEW Eurovox EX1000 SL Released Today.

    Basically although you may need a USB adapter or PCI/PCMIA card also. All explained in the guide I linked you to above.

    as Collumbo says, just one more thing.......scOuser i have looked at that website you posted to me for the reciever and am baffled as to which cable i need to order. could you please have a look and give a full description, pins etc etc, and reply to this please. regards, joe

    As per the first page of Hiteck's guide http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/674371#4102894 showing you the cables you require according to your set up.

    They can be purchased at Maplins but are much cheaper on fleabay. You only need a null modem cable if you have a D9 serial port, found mostly on standalone PCs and older laptop models.

    An adapter is required in conjunction with a null modem cable if you dont have a serial port on your PC or laptop.

    Although as said you may find them cheaper on fleabay or if you want them with the box order them together.

    morning scOuser, i have just received my ex1000 and ordered the cable and the usb dongle. i have just set it up as per instructions without any pc input and have received all the channels, sly sports etc. is this normal? regardz joe

    Ok im sorry if the answer to my question has already been posted but i just cant seem to find it.

    I have N@T MMDS and im wondering if the Eurovox EX1000 SL will work.

    Im in Co. Meath Ireland (near Navan).

    Can anyone help? Thanks in advance :)

    No. Only a Eurovox TX will work on N*L MMDS.

    So if i purchase a Eurovox TX do i still have update the firmware? and if so where will i find the firmware download?

    Yes you will probably have to put new firmware on it, available from eamos library, link is under my picture.

    correct me if im wrong but wont the dvb-c boxes work on ntl mmds and dvb-T boxes for chorus mmds?

    Just saw MMDS in Meath and presumed a TX was the job.
    He did say N*L MMDS, my mistake.

    What Eurovox would be best to get for MMDS in Meath, Ireland (just to clear up any confusion)?

    Do you have a small aerial on your roof or do you have a cable coming into your house?
    What part of Meath are you in?

    I have a square aerial (square wire mesh/dish, i presume its MMDS) on the roof and im in Dunshaughlin Co. Meath.

    Sounds like MMDS alright.I presume you have a downconverter usually behind your tv.

    If thats what i think it is (small black box, its own power, ANT and TV connections) then yep it uses one of those.

    Downconverter is on the arm Barm, (poet and didnt know it) ;) Powerinsertor behind the TV.
