Ahh thats better. Same kinda disc. Completely blown off disc. However rather than have the opti burn this I had the litey burn it. Strange that this new version of nero doesnt show which burner burns a disc. Though that info has always been buggy for me.

Good to know that the "flake" caused the spike. ;)

Use some DVD-R discs and you'll get that "heading" back. ;)

You could also use Nero discspeed and the create disc (burn image) to create your disc.... it'll give you that info on the DVD+R discs too!! :)

Because I'm tired and lazy atm. :p Go to this post and look at Rob's scan, notice he's using MCC 004 media (DVD+R btw) and NO indication of burner on the area above the scan. NOW scroll down to your post (next post) and it shows a TYG02 (DVD-R btw) and the "burning" drive and info is there in the area above the scan. That's what I mean. I'm betting that both were burned with IMGBURN... which means nothing really except for "same" progie. AND if not still means nothing because DVD-R discs allow that feature 100% of the time afaik. ;)

Sorry it's late and the GM is a tired little man. Up at 4:20am this morning for Black Friday. ROFL. :p

mmm speaking of -/+r, I did notice that imgburn acted different with the inlead of the disc. I'll watch it closer next time. I definetely like the opti over my litey now. it saves me a little more time. Its lead in is much quicker than the litey. Probably a firmware thing. What I do know is that the opti takes 20sec less time than the litey for a FULL disc. VERY NICE. Call me crazy but I think thats rather substantial. Ive known about +rw's for a while now. In that they dont require leadin or leadout. Rather interesting.

Hah hah. Thats the burner that burned this disc. For the life of me I could not remember the model name. Well I guess that proves your theory GM. -r's retain that info. VERY invaluable info. This disc is looking a little on the rough side. Probably explains the pif's i'm/we're seeing. A buffing of the disc will tell me. Ive been looking at this buffer on ebay. Now may be the time to give it a shot. This is the drive ive mentioned that I believe I gave cancer 0.o

Glad that I could actually help someone. :p

I don't know how you could have given a drive cancer but hey you might look at this page and see if you can flash some L&D goodness onto it if you still have it.:) By all means CHOOSE the correct f/w if you want to try it. :)

This is a Verbatim +R booktyped to DVD-ROM. Im running an experiment on a buddies PICKY dvd player. It is my hopes that it will read a +R booktyped to DVD-ROM. Now there's a healthy verbie. :D Oddly, the info in the window doesnt show it as dvd-rom. Lol, I guess you cant fool a burner/computer. It is however a confirmed DVD-ROM booktype.

O-man.. you're right about NOT fooling the DVD burner. lol. BUT fooling a stand alone or gaming console is possible. There is a little area at the beginning of the BLANK DVD+R that allows the write strategy for the DVD-ROM. If you've never noticed you can get a few more MB on a DVD-R and the reason for that is the few MB that are set aside for the DVD-ROM designation. OH and don't think you can NOT use it and the availability for more space will appear... doesn't work that way for some reason. lol.

well here is 1 i just did. on the fly. disc 2 disc. dvd9 to dvd5.. i used clonedvd2/anydvd/ i love this combo... this film had 42% compression to get it to fit to a dvd5... a very nice scan here. scanned with the 7200S. and scanning it now in my litey.

same disc scaned with my litey...very nice scan as well... look at the jitter and how it tends to rise at the end, guess ya can tell the compression here at the end...lol

This is the first DVD+R DL 8X I got my hands on in 2006. Yes its a verbatim. And my NEC ND-3550A utilized that FULL speed. I remember it going freakishly fast. NOT what I was used to at the time. Not too bad a scan for what it is, TRUST me.

    omegaman7,
If you would use the Thumbnail code for Forums with ImageShack, we could actually take a look at them just by clicking on the Thumbnails. Just a suggestion.

    Best Regards,
