If you are on true cable try 444.000 you need to add this to your frequency list

If it is a 2007 model it is called a Red Box, (as in the colour of the packaging it came in). He will need to jtag it to bring it back to life.

Depends on the model you have is it a 2006, 2007 or 2008? Press menu, config and system info.

Look down at the box from above and note where the rf in connection is, looking through the grill on the box above this is the tuner, a 2007 model will only measure 8 slots of the grill and a 2006 will measure 11.

OK you can upgrade it to the Feb 2007 firmware. Do you have null modem cable?

Think you picked me up wrong :)

You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F

    Like this one

    Null modem info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6

If your pc/laptop does not have a 9 pin serial port you will need a USB adapter also to use in conjuntion with the null modem cable.

    USB Adapter info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx...t10&doy=search&MenuName=USB to Serial Adaptor

Make sure your USB adapter is a USB to serial port adapter similar to this one.

These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay.

Basically it improves the programme guide and signal problems. But as you say it keeps switching itself on and off this could be a fault in the power supply unit, like any electrical product they do develop faults over time.

If you do want to upgrade just get the cable/cables you need and come back I will give you the firmware and tell you how to do it.
