I have in my torrent client thing called Force Re-Check ability.
It will make sure it has downloaded all files the way they should be.

After using it I have never had bad files.

I don't think I downloaded a bad file but I just can't play the second part is there a reason for that?

Also I still don't understand what the message THe ARCHIVE IS EITHER IN UNKNOWN FORMAT OR DAMAGED means?

    Now I am lost...

You have two rar archive that contains two .avi files?
First part you unrared ok (but it will not play) and that other part you can not even unrar?

What Gspot say about that .avi?
Will VLC Media Player play it? Then you are just missing some codec (gspot will say what exactly)

Did you try to use that repair utility in WinRAR?
You can also try some free rar recovery apps: http://www.snapfiles.com/downloadfind.php?action=s&st=file+recovery&search.x=1&search.y=15

What diffirent file extension? What kind of files you even have?
So you have not even unrar that first archive?

Just to make sure, you do have new winrar and you are using xp?
Is it time to dl it again... and maybe a diffirent version?

Well the file extension is .002 And it's an .AVI file And I added to an archive cause they wouldn't let me extract so after i added both an archive I extracted it and it just came out the same way so I tried to extract it again and it kept on giving me that message.

I just downloaded the new winRaR Saturday so I think I have more of a problem then that.

Should I re download the files and see what happens? And I don't think I can get a different version of the movie.

Also I don't know what the archive is that it keeps on talking about. I need a beginners lesson.

What? You shouldn't need to add anything to anywhere...
I saw this in here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/248020

Sometimes when you dl movie and it comes in two part, there is two folder and in them are files like 001, 002, 003...
Then you open that first rar file (should be called part 1 or 001) and it will show you what that archive contains.

NOTE: if u use torrent client to dl it, do not extract it to same folder!

Well I can Play the first file without even touching winrar but when the file extension is .002 and .003 or above it can't play so I started to think maybe there is a codec download that allows me to play it with the file extensions or am I off base?

I don't know any player that could play archive files...
VLC will play many formats without codecs.

Can you go to file settings and unselect hide known file extensions, and then take a screenshot of the files/folders you have?
(use paint or something to edit it and remove folder names...)

I'll try to get the VLC player first.
