problems with firmware

    Cant download firmware, using serial to usb adapter

    a bit more detail might be required, what box for instance and what firmware

    the ex5000 pvr. it wont download from my computer to box. i am not really good with computers so dunno what to do

    Did you try following HiTecks guide?? Link is in my sig

    If you are REALLY no good with computers you might try find someone that could help you with it.

    no mate how to i access that, i think my prob may be because i am not using straight serial drive and it isn't recognising my usb jobbie i bought earlier

    As SG8 has said you need to check the guide, anyway click on the link and check the post 3rd down by Celtic, it is most likely the USB adaptor is not being recognised, that is assuming that you are sure you are using a NULL MODEM lead, so do check the guide by HiTeck. Also if you are using OS Vista there appears to be many conflicts, get to a PC with OS XP preferably with the 9 pin serial port, maybe you have a friend you can loan off.
