    Hi,

I recently purchased a few different varities of CDRs. I dont have the ATIPs right now, but these are the brands and dyes used:

    1. TraxData (Silver) - very cheap - uses Ritek. Didn't like them at all - poor build.

    2. Samsung Gold Premium - "Blue printed 24X Guaranteed" - uses ProDisc

    3. Samsung Silver Premium - neatly written ring company name in a circular ring - good build - 32X Max speed - uses Prodisc

    4. Samsung 'coated CDRs' - various colors - Black, Blue, Red etc. - excellent build quality (reminds me of HP) - uses Prodisc.

Any opinions on these brands. Thus far they seem to be good. I have burnt a few of these. Unfortunately my LG 8240B does not report C2 errors, so I cannot used CDSpeed to check for quality.

All these CDRs can be seen at:

Well, both Ritek and Prodisc are generally considered high quality manufacturers. What do you mean by saying that Ritek's are poorly built?

You can use Exact Audio Copy in secure mode for disc quality analysis.

Well the TraxData ones didnt look good - but maybe thats just what "I" felt.

Good to hear that the Prodisc ones are good. I have a lot of them already.

One noteworthy point was the much more costly coated colorful Samsungs. Do you think that'll serve any purpose? The vendor says that the additional coating helps the longevity of the disk.

Well, if the top coating actually is hard and wear resitant, then it naturally helps to prevent dangerous top side scratching. In my option Kodaks (r.i.p.) had excellent top coating.

    Hi everybody,
Has anybody got any info on longevity and durability of ProDisc media. Somebody mentioned around May,6 that they had seen a Japanese article, claiming that sweat tests indicate that the durability is as good as TY.
Would it be possible to get more details on that?
Has anybody got any infoon/experience with RAMEDIA discs?
