I can’t find any reviews online yet of 123 Copy DVD. Has anyone here used it yet? What do you think of it? I saw it at Wal-Mart last night and was really tempted, but I’d rather wait until I see a first-hand account. Anybody?

Try DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. They're free and do as good as anything else free or not.

If you simply have to spend money on something then CloneDVD is the only one I'd pay for.

I have it and it works quite well. I’ve ‘backed up’ (ahem) at least a dozen movies, plus extra features, since I got it, with no problems. It’s about as straightforward and easy to use as possible.

The only important thing to be aware of is that you have to download a patch from the website before you can use it. That’s why it says ‘Internet connection required for maximum performance.’ But it’s not a big deal. It’s free and you don’t even have to register. It contains the actual encryption breaking code.

I had 123 Copy DVD for a hot second and hated it totally. It wasn't til I got DVD Shrink and DVD decrypter that I was able to do anything at all. It just wouldn't work on my system. Thanks to all the guys here, I have some excellent copies of my movies!

Thanks guys, for all your postings and helping us newbies. I owe ya all a plate of fudge.

So you're basically downloading a DVD Decrypter knock-off to use with a pay program. Hmmmmm.

I bought the software for $18.97 and downloaded the update as well as the third party update. It works just fine for backing DVD's that you don't want the extras or trailers. It only takes a few minutes to learn. It worked on movies that DVD XCopy Platinum or DVD Shrink wouldn't work on. Best results are when you select Feature Movie only and deselect any language except english. Where I bought the software I noticed that they removed it from sale. I have burned about 20 movies and all play just fine with good quality.

    Reviews here http://www.download.com/3000-2646-10289999.html

I tried it and its a basic backup dvd software with no frills. Your better off getting the FREE DVDShrink otherwise try DVDFab trial download http://www.dvdidle.com/download.htm
its much better then 123 but DVDShrink does better job so.

    Hello All,
Recently I purchased 123 Copy DVD from Comp USA for $29.00 and my system meets all of X-OOM's qualifications. I have installed the software and downloaded the update but it (123 Copy DVD) does not recognize my burner. I have a Plextor PX-504A DVD+R/RW. The software works fine when I make a copy to my hard drive but it will not let me burn a DVD from my hard drive or copy a DVD what can I do. I have written X-OOM technical support twice now and have yet to get a reply can someone here help me with this problem?

Still trying to get 123 Copy DVD to work. Put it on my PC with the patch. After loading it when I click on any of the three operating buttons my computer locks up. Heck, even the Help button if you can believe that. Takes several minutes after trying to shut it down via Cont>ALT>Delete before it will close and I get my computer back.

Support desk sent a long list of things to try. Said I should remove all other DVD or CD copying software from my computer. Didn't help. Also gave a LONG list of programs that might conflict with 123. Sounded like I shouldn't have any other applications of ANY kind on my computer.

Still haven't got it working. Going to uninstall it and start again. Hate doing that because the license only allows three installations and then it's dead. Support at the publisher won't give me any credit for this.

Don't know if the software is crap or not but I've never had this kind of trouble (like I say can't even start the Help program, let alone the actual software) with software before.

I see no older members answering in here....
and all the newbies answering each other. except: Nephilim, the moderator. Probably 'cos all the old guy always answering: they don't like the new Forum design that just change few weeks ago.

Anyway: I try the free version of 123 Copy DVD. You can finding for free in the net. But even so: I don't like it for many reason.
I had backing thousands of movies in the last 12 years. So I had try most of the programs out there.
My final statement is: NON of those programs will be a 100% reliable as:

    - DVDFab --- New Decrypter (Always updating) ( "$" - Free-Trial )
    http://www.dvdfab.cn/
    or
    - AnyDVD --- New Decrypter (Alway Updating) ( $ - Free-Trail )
    http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvdhd.html

    - DVD Shrink --- Re-Authoring + Re-Encoding (FREE)
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cd_dvd/copy_dvd/dvd_shrink.cfm
    or
    - CloneDVD --- Same as Shrink but the Pay version ( $ - Free-Trial )
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cd_dvd/create_dvd/clonedvd.cfm

    - DVD Decrypted --- Old Decrypter & Burn CD / DVD (FREE)
    https://db.toggle.com/free-download/kl37020/DVD-Decrypter.ht
    or
    - ImgBurn --- Burn CD / DVD / DVD-RW (erase & format) DVD-DL, etc. (FREE)
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cd_dvd/burning/imgburn.cfm

Of all of them: the 3 I always use and get the job done; Soft & Simple are:
DVDFab > DVDShrink > DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn or NERO for Windowns XP ( Last 3 to burn)

Why 123 Copy DVD conflict inside your PC (Read my last post there):
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads...alid-dvd-navigation-structure-message.747765/

How to keep using DVD Fab 9xxx (FREE) after the trial-expire (Read my last post there):

    Happy Burning :)

Excellent answer MrGuss, however, i believe this to be an attempt at spam. New users can't post links, so it's a poor attempt, but an attempt none-the-less.

According to the posted dates this thread petered out in August 2004.
Ten years pass then it drags itself out of the grave?

I never pay attention about the date or the newbies links either. Since newbies can't post links by the new AD rules now-on-days.
Probably a glitch of the new forum version, that send the treat to the top !?
