Ripped/compressed/burned DVD will play on computer but not on regular DVD player

    if you have a ps2 or xbox, get it moded and it will play all regions of dvds and everything you can imagine.

    similar problem here. Burned movie from warez converted avi to mpeg2. strange thing is when burned to CD-R plays fine (but only can get 20 mins that way!) if burned to verbatim DVD does NOT play. fairly new Sony +/- compatible. what's going on??

    also if worse comes to worse how do I hook laptop to DVD player to play the videos? (TV is too old to have proper connections.) I have the red/yellow/white cable thing. can get sound but no picture. the opening on the laptop is a little big for the electrodes.

    yes.. media is very important.. dont buy the cheap stuff..
    also burn speeds..
