First Generation boxes are in the same class as Original's so you can use the Core400 file with no problems.

If it is a 1st generation or you are doubtful at all then use the Core257,bin it is safe for genuine and clones okay. It might be helpful to you here if you want to check your box out. >>>>>

I'll sort that out but another box has a problem when you turn it on it just says 0, you can't put it on standby or anything. Plus there is just a black screen.

    hope you can help.

It sounds like a bad flash, so go to the link marked Starview 1st line at the bottom of my post, read down to the bad flash method.

But check these threads first an read the page, to eliminate the C11 cap problem, to do that remove from mains and take the cober off and have a look to see if there is any leakage, or bulging on the Green capacitor, it is easily identifiable.

thank you very very very much malci. you don't know how happy i am, thank you very much for helping me all the way. I opened up the box and the c21 was stuck together with the thing below it. I simply pulled it apart, and i think it was because of the heat they joined together.
It was something to do with the bad flash too. So luck was with me and on the first go it completed the flash.

    Thanks again malci.

Brilliant news, and good work for getting at it and having a little go in the first place, it's nice to see that you are back up and running, pleased for you, and your welcome. And only one atempt at the Bad Flash recovery and Bingo, first time lol, it sometimes happens like that, others can take 20 plus. Cheers ;)
