Why cant i get in 2 the secret menu on My new starview 3 box and cant update the software Anyone help Pleas???

 

you will need to download the firmware for your box,in order to access the secret menu,look in the starview link under my pic for all the help and info you will need.

I'm in Dublin on N*l and have the starview 3 "The box super".
i've flashed it with firmware 705e, and then put the super nthel channel dump onto it too. Some channels are not coming in i.e channel 4 and sky one etc. it just says, scrambled or bad channel.

Can anybody help me?

Quick question - I recently bought a Starview 3 Super and loaded the GTRom_Super_705e firmware on to it successfully.

Everything seemed to be fine, all the channels where viewable etc. but then yesterday it was coming up "scrambled or bad channel" for all the stations. I'm assuming the codes have changed so my question is does the firmware include auto-code updating?

Menu > 1570
Turn "key emu" on
Go to "Set Default Key" > press ok
Exit to s*y sports & wait for it to update.

1 make sure your incoming cable is connected to the cable input on the box and not going thru a splitter

2 Make sure you have a scart lead connected to the tv on the box and connected to AV1 or EXT1 only
also make sure you check this as been a proper working scart

3 Next go to menu factory settings and press ok put in 0000 code press ok to clear all data

4 Make sure you turn the box off at the mains for 1 min and turn back on again

5 Accept the language

6 Installation put your provider in the top box then do an auto scan wait for this to finish even if you see
failed a few times this is normal so just be patient till it has finished

7 When this is finished exit out to main tv screen

8 Then go to menu and press 1570 on the key pad into secret menu and turn the EMU on which has been switched off by default

9 Exit out 3 times to main screen and put the box on to the tv channel sky sports 1 and wait for this to update this
could go up as far as 250% so again be patient and wait also do not change the channel while
this is been done or you will have to start all over again

 

Hi, could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong. I bought a Box Super (Star view 3) this week and have been trying to get it to work for the last few hours.

I have connected it to the TV and installed the software. IN my system information tab it says the following:

The BOX SUPER
API ver : 7.09_E
Boot Ver : 8.0
17 June 2008

Do I have the correct software?

I have selected my cable provider in the installation section (Chorus) and have done the automatic scan a dozen times. I've also tried all the other cable providers just in case. It goes down through all the frequencies and says 'failed' after every one of them.

Do I have the correct software installed? Am I missing a step? If you see where I'm going wrong could you please let me know.

hi a bit of a big problem can anyone help. set up the box for a friend a couple of days ago, everything working ok. but he phoned me to say that he got a on screen message saying that he was using a illegal set top box and that if he carried on using it he would be cut off. and guess wot this morning i got a phone call say he as nothing at all but snowy screen. i was always lead to believe that this box had no feedback and that vir** could not tell it is being used. any help please? cheers steve uk Yorkshire.

Afternoon mate Few multiposters around today

 

I'm in the midlands in Ireland - co, Laois to be specific. I'm not sure what the difference between MMDS and cable is. I think my place is cable. There is just a cable coming out of the wall into a standard digital decoder box which hooks to the TV. There is an aerial on the roof. MMDS is broadband or something isn't it? If it is broadband then I definately have cable!

Can you advise?

 

Hey I just did some research on MMDS. I think I may have CHorus MMDS. The aerial in this photo: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/609171 is like the one on my roof. The problem I described above remains. Will this box work on this system?
