Flashing the box to V4.50 Ireland - will resolve the problem, the 4.52 - 4.53 - 4.54 are Beta and not reliable, also you can not just flash straight to 4.54 you have to work up via 4.52 and load two bins "logo file and Bin file", it is not worth the hassle, it does work but it is more trouble than it's worth, green screen crashes in EPG etc. and you have to use loader GTRom 4.3, forget it and stick to 4.50 Ireland and 4.51 UK - they are more stable, reliable and fully auto-updating - sorry for sticking my oar in but I have had many a frustating meddle with that Beta software.

Think scOuser is off till Monday, the file you want is called CryptStar-1.4-Core257Bin for clones, it was only released last night and you will find it in the link to Eamo's Library - just click on the folder Starview 7th down and then into firmware folder 2nd down and the file is there again 2nd file down, then go back into software folder and and down load GTRom 4.00rar first one - and you then have the software to load the firmware.

    Hi there,
Was wondering if anyone can help, have a starview box and i've been coming on here to get codes for the past couple of weeks, but my flat mate has been away and while i was out tried to get it working by trying to auto tune channels, now it wont let me get out of the languages part of menu, ever when press exit, Also just says ON, instead of channel numbers, Is the box finished now or is there a way to fix it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Also thanks for all the codes up to now.

Looks like a factory setting was done

Turn box off at the back for a minute and turn back on

    Press OK to select English
    IPress OK to select Installation
    Choose Provider etc
    Automatic Scan
    Press OK
    Channels found
    Exit

    Press Menu then 1570
    Turn EMU key ON

    Exit , exit , exit

Hey, can someone tell me one thing. Should i have the box turned on when I open the GTRom, should it be on standbye or powered on fully.

I`ve tried to follow the guide for updating the box but when i open the GTrom and download the cryptstar-v1.4 it keeps saying the flash failed.....can one of the top members advise, merci buckets

Are you using a serial port on you pc/laptop?

If YES, are you sure you have a null modem cable.
If NO, are you sure the usb-serial adapter is bi-directional. If it isn't, it won't work.

Does it fail without any progress, or do you get to NN% before it fails? ( where NN% is some figure like 90% )

    EDITED

Just saw the last post. Sounds like your cable is not right. Are you connected using a null modem cable ( 9pin female to 9pin female ), or have you got a usb to serial adapter plugged in to your pc, then the null modem cable?
