Is it a starview 1 or a starview 2 called "The Box"?

You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.

If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos FTA Library.

You will need the GTromloader Version 4, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link.

You will need version 2.57eE fixed firmware found in the Starview firmware folder.

And please download the Starview PDF guide, this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything.This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.

i have THE BOX version 4.54. i cant access the hidden menu tried menu 1570 and info2004. I have read that i need to put v4.50 on it. Would having 4.54 stop me getting the secret menu?

 

not to sure mate but i have v450 on mine (ireland)and no probs at all

 

do you know of any other way to get hidden menu

 

there was something last night about that all right give me a mo to look in the meantime go to parental control change the password to 1968 and see does that work

tried that karljd still cant get hidden menu, all i need to do is get to emu to turn it on

 

Darst if your in ireland read that thread i sent you i think you may need to reflash the box

 

thanks karljd it looks like a re flash alright. i am in dublin. i dont mind doing a reflash it only takes a few minutes, was just starting to panic when i couldn't access hidden menu. as i said just to turn the emu on. so near yet so far..thanks again.

 

No bother darst as far as i no if you flash 450 you need to go up in stages to 454 ie 452 453 454 but 450 is stable so no need to update for the moment,if as you say justa matter of hooking the thing up

 

still baffled as to why 454 wont give access to hidden menu. ah well its a learning process i suppose. thanks again for your help, i will post back tomorrow when i do it

 

yeah please do ,im sure if sc0ucer or celt was around they'd have an answer for you the bloke i got a few boxes of always has 450 on maybe 454 works in the uk,as you no yourself a lot of people over there think dublin is in the uk

 

So i flashed 3 of THE BOX today put 4.50 on them and that allowed me to access the hidden menu. When i scanned the boxes all went well got all the channels but on two of them i had to manually enter codes. has 4.50 got autoroll. strange it was two of them

 

Hi all,

All my channels got blocked on my star view box, when i put in the codes, its coming up UPDATING(on screen) going up to 240% the back to 0% and starting all over again.

Pls can any one help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Can somebody please help, this is driving me crazy.

I have updated the software with almost every software (clone, not clone)

I have put in all the recommended codes from oct 17 etc for every company, checked and stored.

Turned EMU ON etc and scanned it etc...

Every time I keep getting the same thing.. The box will pick up channels when finished scanning and you go to the channel it plays sound for 2 sec of a channel then keeps crashing and rebooting and crashing etc....

AHHH please help it is driving me INSANE!!!
