Hi. I have the bin file for the latest The Box firmware on my desktop but I can't seem to download it ontoThe Box itself. If i try to use Serial Port 1 or 2 it says the specified bin file cannot be found. If i use Serial Port 3 a box comes up to say it is downloading but it is staying on 0% and nothing is happening.

Does anyone have any ideas about what this is? I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the bin file as it says it doesn't know what programme to open it with.

    Any help would be appreciated.

since last night ive lost all the channels on my star view box except std channels like bbc1 etc.

i have tried rebooting the box, re-setting to factory settings, emu is on but still im getting blank screens.

the box is an original genuine starview box, not a clone. firmware is version 4.00e_E, boot version 7, i take it this needs updating to fix the problem??

Just curious, i flashed a few days back Cryptstar firmware etc version.
All good, what should it say on my box under system/version, genuine box etc. Doesnt seem to have changed, although all works fine.
I suppose until codes change I will not know if AutoUpdate works.
    Thx
    Steve

It will still read as v4.00 as the change was rushed out and that line wasn't changed.

I have a Starview 2 which I can switch on but only get the 'normal' channels. I see the fix is for the normal Starview box though :(

Tried a factory reset and put in the code above (T*l*west which is now V*rg*n) but no joy.

Anymore further suggestions? Oh and is there a way to upgrade, when/if available, as I no longer have access to an RS232 connection?

Do you have a NULL MODEM cable. This will not work with an RS232 cable, which physically looks the same. The difference is in the way they are connected internally. If you know someone who has done this, borrow their cable and see if works, if it does, you were sold the wrong cable, or given the wrong cable in your package when you bought it.
