Lol, your probarly right.. But everytime I recongfigure something relating to hardware in Vista since installing Service Pack 1- I keep getting this Blue Screen saying "Dumping Memory". After a couple of restarts, I seem able to get back into Windows and everything seems normal from there on.

    Or it could be my hardware acting up but then again I did upgrade two weeks ago to the system specs listed below;

-EV Shiny Piano Black Mid Tower Case with Colour LCD Display
    -Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H 780G AM2+ mATX Motherboard
    -AMD Phenom 9500 Quad Core AM2+ 4MB Cache 2200MHz
    -Crucial 2x 2GB DDR2 800MHz Memory
    -Arctic Power 700W PSU
-Samsung HD501LJ 500GB SATAII Hard Drive 16MB Cache
    -LG Blu-Ray & HD-DVD-Rom Combo 16x DVDRW Black SATA
-Zotac 8800GT AMP Edition 512mb GDDR3 Graphics Card
-Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Soundcard

i read somewhere earlier that there are 2 sta*vie* b*oxes, one is the orignal and the other is a clone. It also said that if you try update the firmware in the clone type box it kills the b*x and it'll stop working.. how true is that? and how do u differentiate a clone from the orignal starv*iew?

    Thanx

You might be lucky- but I wouldn't recommend it unless you've got money to burn.

I have flashed the box with v4.54 software but now it just says 'ON' on the front panel and the screen is blank. None of the buttons on the remote are responding, I cant even press menu. Anyone else had this problem?

Are all the cables connected to your TV properly? Make sure that the scart cables are not loose or anything silly like that.

No, all connected properly. I decided to reload the v4.50 and the telly came on but jsut channels 1-5. Then flashed with 4.52 but once again the front panel of the box says 'ON' and I can't press anything else, the same when I flashed with 4.54.

Did you enable the Key EMU? On the Menu sreen, press 1570- then move down to Key EMU and change to enable/yes.

Once that's out of the way- go back to your channels and they should come on. (Might need to wait for say 4-5 seconds for the box to update the channel keys)

    Edit

Ooh, you’ve got the Starview 2 box... sorry matey- from what I know isn't it more or less the same except for minor changes in the hardware? (Don't really much about it as I have the first generation model)

I can't even get into the menu. The only button on the remote that has any effect is the stand by button.

If you are in Ireland , reflash it again with 4.50 and do a factory setting , then a fresh scan

You will need version (Crypstar - V1.4 genuine only) firmware for GENUINES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder.

I have downloaded cryptware already on other boxes but it keeps failing on these.
