starview seems to have died ??

My Starview Box is a Clone and it died last night and came back on this morning, and has died again tonight! Just keeps saying - No Signal on every channel? Any Suggestions? Do you think my box is gonna die altogether

i was told by celtic in this thread i need version 4.00 for genuines.

would that be STARVIEW_H20070607_400eE_api.bin

or is it one of the others ??

Firstly thanks to Fergus i finnally flashed the box, no more manually doing codes (hopefully)

I didn,t realise i have 2 Null modem cables 9 pin-9 pin and to save anyone buying one if you PM me and i can send/meet you (if okay with DDP moderator) you can have it free of charge.

I am looking for advice.
I am in Dublin 12 with N*L cable and The Box. Very similar to earlier postings. When I turned on this morning 'no signal' was on the screen. I did all the usual. Checked the cable, connected and I can receive stations to the TV from the cable. I did an auto scan and no stations where found. I repeated everything a few times. I decided to do a factory reset but then after that the Language menu appeared and I cant get rid of it. I can go in and rescan but still comes up with '0 program found'. I can exit out of installation menu but parental control and channel edit are in green and it skips them and again I cant exit beyond the language menu. I reflashed with version 4.5 (got from eamos site) and the same still happens.

Any suggestions of what to do next?

Its a real one. Its not my signal cause I have just swapped my Box with my mums spare old Sview. Her Sview works fine with my cable. She is now trying my Box in her house.

 

Its not working in my mums house either. So I guess its to do with my bx.

 

I think you may have a problem with the tuner,is it still under warranty?i suggest you contact the seller and see can you get a refund.

 

Press Menu > System Information and tell us exactly what the API is please

I am comming to same conclusion as Karljd and am thinking tuner problem. I contacted the seller and he said to post it back to him, he seems reputable and has 100% feedback. I am just making sure that I havent forgotten to check something logical before I post it back.

The full API is

API Ver: 4.50e E
Boot ver: 7.0

 

if he's agreed to take it back its worth it for the price of postage and you get a new box

 

Speaking of firmware, I've just installed 4.54 but no pic appeared. The box display rebooted itself, and displayed 'On' but didn't go any further.

I've reverted back to v4.51 and all ok.

Anyone else having this issue with v4.54?
