STARVIEW UPDATING FIRMWARE - NO CODE BEGGING HERE

Hey there people,
Have just moved house where the b*x was working perfectly. Moved to another place in dublin and had U*C newly installed. Two months later I tried re-installing the b*x but to no avail. I've taken in (almost!) all the frankly staggering amount of advice on here and have come to the conclusion that U*C have kicked my ass on this one. Would that be an accurate statement?
I am all ears for your sage-like wisdom.

O by the way when I say "took advice", that's concerning updating all software, factory settings, etc.

what is the problem you're having? no signal, scrambled or bad channel.

 

When i was installing it - going through the N*L section, 1/24, saved 35 channels. When i reset to factory it became 1/37 and saved 187 channels.
I thought happy days cos that's how it installed when it worked before but alas, I either get a blank screen or the scrambled message.
Haven't U*C made my box obsolete with a new system or something?

have you tried pressin menu then 1570 then turn emu on then hit default key once exit it back 3 times put to sly sports then let it update?

I am trying to update the software on my 'The Box PVR'. I am in Ireland and I have version 3.104 on the box. I have read the instructions for update on http://www.freewebs.com/starview-update/.

I cannot seem to download the correct files...

My box has none of the specified vents mentioned by celtic, it has 28x8 vents, i think it is genuine...

Do i need one of the mentioned cables?? Can i not use a usb to usb cable?? It fits into the box...

Any help is much appreciated

 

you will need a null modem cable or a null modem cable in conjunction with a usb-serial cable,no other cable's will work

I have read this guide about updating a starview 3.
But first I want to make sure I have The Box Super and not a clone.
What i've read and the pics I looked at say its a genuine, but i've been told this info only applies to the starview 1.
Where can I find info to make sure my starview 3 in genuine?
Been searching google but finding nothing on starview 3 apart from buying one or updating it.
Anyone have a genuine starview 3 and able to post some pictures and info, or point me in the right direction?

Yep has 25x7 vents.
Asked on here too to see if anyone on this thread know's anything.

 

Hi folks
I have had latest firmware installed for months now, no probs. Rescanned channels tonight to see if anything new, now only get FTA channels, left on sky sports but not updating, any advice please

check to see is your emu on (the box menu 1570 down to emu)or if you are useing a spliter take it off & rescann with the feed in

go to menu 1570 and press the set default, if the emu is turned on,then go back to sly movies and let it update.

hi karl, are all the starview 3 "the box super" the same, or do you get genuine and clones just like 1st gen starviews, do i have to watch what file to flash with or will the one you said be ok.
