Does the percentage move at all? try it on different channels SkyTwo, Discovery Turbo, etc look at the signal bar on each channel and leave it on one with the most blocks full
yes the percentages move it some times goes to 160% but then itseem to hang up on there? done it with other chanels and still does not de-scramble any channels? at a compleate loss at the moment with it?
Have you clicked on "set default key" before turning on key code? Sometimes it can take a while to update ...as in....i have seen them take a few hours....be patient leave it update and walk away for a while. SHould work at that.

what do I do when I down loaded the firmware? using the loader??, which buttons do I click in to? when got loader up?

Have you done a factory reset before you update the firmware and also after then scan?? Your still on the very old firmware.
how will i obtain a bin c=image file and where do I get that rom for my box, I am in the telewest area of lancashire?
There is probably some channel dump files where you got the updated firmware which you can load on with the loader maybe. Actually there's not, so you may be out of luck.
