Cheers D done the same now. fixes language voice-over issue by making the function the same as Max model (ie:"Red button" use remote control to change selected language)
Has anyone tried to to upload there CDF from the new EX5000 PVR, Tuned mine in no probs and arranged channels to my liking but when I try to save the CDF to my pc nothing happends. Comes up Click start and nothing happends, just the second box dissapear's ? No problems with other UFL's on my other box's just the ex5000
Had no problem uploading after arranging them as I wanted on the EX5000,but could not upload my CDF from my Vox V.
I've just done this: the first 2 times I tried uploading the CDF from the 5000PVR, the 'start' box disappears after clicking on 'start', but on the 3rd attempt, a 'save' box appeared, and I saved the CDF file onto my computer; I was then able to open this file on the computer and rearrange my channels/Favorites, etc, and reload the updated CDF back onto the PVR. (make sure you use the 'upload' and 'download' buttons at the bottom of the UFL box, NOT the top, centre 'download' button.
Cheers guys, Wierd I just tried it again after rebooting my eurovox an PC , Uploaded fine this time. Thanks for your coments
Hi, I got the Eurovox 5000PVR - red box colour. I got a cable with it, which you can see in the below link. http://rocky.digikey.com/weblib/Assmann/Web Photos/AK143-3.jpg As you can see, it has two "female" ends on it. I need to hook the box up to my PC to download the software. While one end of the cable I got fits into the back of the Eurovox the other end doesnt have anywhere on the back of the PC to fit. There is a male and female parts on the back of the PC (Dell Dimension 9200), while the female part is free, the male part is connected to the monitor. Was I given the wrong cables or anything? Thanks
Hi Gillers, The Dimension 9200 doesn't have any 'Serial' ports [unless you ordered them as an extra] You'll need to get yourself a 'USB to Serial' adaptor See THIS POST for more info. ]
Thanks Zafod. Are serial ports a more modern thing on computers then? Would something in the below link work? http://www.expansys.ie/p.aspx?i=101609 Thanks
Hi Gillers, No, in fact its the opposite. ] Serial and Parallel ports are being replaced by the newer USB ports. Hence you fairly new PC doesn't have them. In that post I linked to, there are links to shops that sell the correct type of USB to Serial cables. I wouldn't like to say if the one you posted was right. As you've got to be careful, some of these cables are wired up differently.
Another thing to add to this post, make sure BEFORE you buy that it will work on a x64 system. From experience I know that some adaptors are not compatable with x64. Even if you are on 32bit (x86) ATM it would be good to know you could migrate to x64 in the future.
Thanks all for your help. Also on the back of the box wherethe two metal "tunnels for cables" are- one says TV/VCR, the other ANT - well the one that says ANT, the tunnel is completely pushed in, meaning I would no t be able to put anything into that tunnel if needs be. Would I need to put something into the tunnel type thingy which says ANT? Thanks
Hi Gillers, Assuming your going to be using this as a cable box, you shouldn't need to use that ariel port. But, I'd send it back to where ever you got it from. Cos if the backs busted what are the insides like ???
Many thanks go out to Dolphin for the tut on the ex5000 remote. Hopefully time well spent for a lot of users of this! You certainly have my appreciation for the time spent.
Sounds like u haven't got a COM port, u may need a USB to Serial RS232 DB9 adaptor, i just got one from ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-2-0-to-Se...ryZ41995QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Thanks Topdj, it's nice to get some positive feedback. I try to keep my Tuts user friendly and informative at the same time, as someone once said "Do it so my Granny can understand it". that's what I try to do. D
