Question..I just got a new system with DVD/RW, and curious about some programs. According to a 2005 poll, DVD Cloner 2 is the best softare for copying dvs, and supposedly has the css encryption software included and you don't need anything further..Is this true, and is the software that is for sale legit and pre-ban software...I only want to back up movies that I already have, but not sure about what software to use for copy protected dvds...Want to try to keep spending under $75.00 if possible..And want something that is pretty simple to use. Help

basically you run your movie through shrink first,
this will remove any copyright attachments, and also compress the movie down in size in order for it to beable to be burnt onto a dvd 4.7gb disc.
this is transfered onto your hardrive,so you need enough space.
then once this is done, you can burn it with dvd decrypter.
there are other options you can use,.as nero is the default burning software that runs alongside shrink
if you dont have this, you need to disable nero in the settings on dvd shrink.this will enable you to use dvd decrypter
its very easy once you get the hang of it.
    with regards hursty.

One more thing..What brand of media do you find best for copying...I had heard that Verbatim AZO metal dye disks were the best but I have no idea..Thanks

I was thinking that DVD Cloner 2 was having a problem decripting a few movies. After tonight I am not so sure. I tried to back up an xxx that had no potection on it. DC2 could not do it to one disc.Turns out it is the size giving the problem on this movie. It reported it was 7.69 when I started and then went to error.I dont know why it can compress it to the disc. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Shrink did it. I contacted their support and got no useful answers. Does anyone know when their next revision is due out?

    Thanks

No ... and I don't know how you were able to resurrect a thread that was 7 months since the last post.
