We have DirecTV with the basic box. There's a connection for an OTA antenna. IS it necessary to buy a "digital" antenna to receive OTA signals? OR will an old tried & true amped antenna work? We're about 25 miles from the local station and on a hill.
I'd prefer an indoor unit or possibly something I could piggy back onto the dish.
Now before complaining about the retro-step-forward, I just had a visit from the cable company technician and he accessed an inner menu in the Cisco DTA50. I should have asked him how he did it (he definitely used the DTA remote) but we were having a discussion (a friendly discussion, he was rather nice), so I forgot. Anyway, does anybody know how to access it?

Looking for ideas on a cheap/easy way to make this work. I just bought a new 60" Samsung un60fh6003 TV. It has no audio out- no analog/RCA, no digital/Toslink, no headphone jack, no HDMI Audio Return Channel. This is not a problem with 99% of what I watch, as I get the Audio from the HDMI signal coming from whatever video source I'm using. However, the Superbowl is coming up and my only source for live sports is from local OTA tv, via an antenna and the TV's built-in tuner. Thus,...
