Please I'm looking for free ware but if not available then I'll pay if I must. But I want to know because sometimes with my standard disc copying software I'll begin to copy or back up a perfectly clean and almost new disc, either game or program and somewhere in the copying stage It'll give up an error message. Please, if someone knows, is there a way to get past this common problem with some sort of free software or even bought software and which is the best? Because I want to but I cant make back ups of my Command and Conquer games... So again, please help.

Unfortunately there's no freeware for backing up PC games. There are three main programs for doing so - BlindWrite (my favorite), Alcohol 120% and Clone CD. All three have trial versions so it'd be a good thing to give all three a test run to see which you like best. Here are a few threads that'll give you a good idea of what's involved :)
