I'm not sure whether the prob is with the DVD CD itself, coz as I changed my CD to DVD -R, it burnt as perfect as before.
hope sumbody cud answer this doubt too (besides d main prob I posted be4)

What is the rated speed of the media?
Try reducing one step. MAX is rarely the best choice.

Also insert the disk before starting NeroVision so it knows the
values before you get to the burn parameter choices.

 

I Am getting the same problem. I am trying to burn a playstation 2 image on a verbatim disc.heres the log i got:

Hi all

I'm a newbie to afterdawn, approching pension age, slowly losing my brain cells and desparately in need of help!!!!!

It seems this problem never seems to go away.

Up till now I have been using Datawrite Titanium 4.7 GB DVD+R 8x to back up my music files, with the occasional " end of disc-at once failure"

Since investing in the Verbatim 4.7GB DVD+R 16x I have not been able to burn a single Disc. Six of which are now Coasters!!!!!

I keep geeting the messages "Unable to recover TOC"

and "Could not perform end of Disc-at-once"

DVD Brand : Verbatim 4.7GB DVD+R 16x

Nero: Nero 6 Ultra Burning Rom Ver 6.3.0.2

I have tried to update to the latest firmware from pioneer at:
http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/content/support/support/software.html

but when trying to install "73813268DVRA06_FW108.exe" keep getting the error " DVD-Rom/DVD-RW Firmware update Utility ver1.90E Available target not found"

I have also removed InCd withoput sucess.

You would have recieved a quicker answer if you had posted a new question.

Did your burner come with the PC. If so it is a OEM and the firmware you are trying to install may mess up the burner.

I do not think firmware is your trouble, but if you need some, look at this link.

I didn't know whether or not I should start here or a new thread, if I screwed up, sorry.

I'm having the same "unable to locate TOC" error that a lot of people seem to be having. I'm using the same burner as the post before mine (dusty1949) with the only difference being I have firmware version 1.10 which was issued by Sony.

I'm using TDK 4.7GB 16x DVD+Rs, not sure if they're rewritable or not, lost the cover to the spindle and haven't tried (perhaps i'll edit the post with results)

Any help or tips to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having a similar problem only with cd's NOT dvd's .My dvd's burn fine but cd's get an error the last ten burns in a row .
before that i must have burned over 3000 cd's with this burner and Nero.

Oh man, I'm up against it here. I hope I can get this worked out, but who knows?

Here's the deal:

I used to be able to burn NO PROBLEM using this same computer and a NEC 3500AG Dual Layer burner rigged up in an enclosure and plugged in via USB. Burned dozens of discs on it using version 6.x of Nero.

Well, that was a year and a half ago. I recently had to use the recovery disks to put the computer back to it's original condition. No problem there. It's a Compaq with 1GB or RAM and the hard drive is not fragmented. CPU speed is no problem because I was burning fine previously -- and with only 512MB RAM.

I updated the firmware on this drive yesterday to 2.1A. Worked like a charm.

I installed a copy of the latest Nero Ultra Enhanced Version 7. Registered copy, no problems.

I tried burning a directory full of video files created using DVDShrink to a Sony DVD-R and got the dreaded "Could not perform end of Disc-at-once" error. I tried burning at 16x and 12x (I know, dumb).

Now, it's possible that the problem could be related to the write speed I chose. Laugh if you must, but I actually didn't think to check what the maximum write speed of the disks was. Perhaps when I get home tonight, I'll realize the error of my ways and that will solve the problem. Funny though, I used the same computer and DVD writer before and never even recall setting the write speed and it always worked.

What I'm more concerned about is all this talk about having traces of Roxio on my system. Now, Roxio didn't come with my PC, and I haven't installed it. However, I recently bought a Blackberry Pearl and installed the Blackberry Desktop Manager. Little did I know that Desktop Manager contains Roxio for Blackberry Media Manager. This program allows me to transfer videos, ringtones, music, etc. to my Blackberry.

Can this produce the same errors with Nero as other Roxio products? And if so, how do I solve the problem? If I uninstall Desktop Manager and, by extension, the Roxio for Blackberry, I lose the capabilities of that program.

When I get home tonight, I'll try to burn again using a much lower speed (4x). I may also use different media. But if I get the same problem, I'm afraid that it might be the Roxio for Blackberry.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

BTW -- My DVDs used to burn automatically after DVDShrink was done with them, now I have to do it manually. Probably a problem because I have a newer version of Nero, right?

 

Sorry this doesn't address the larger matter of your post, but this happens to me too, now that I'm using Nero 7. It never happened when I was using Nero 6.x.

 

i have a could not perform end of disc-at-once error too. i tried to do many things here but cant get it to work. this happens when i try to burn an image file onto a DL DVD. It stops working when it says writing lead-out. I'm using a HP DVD 640c burner and a memorex DVD+R DL disc. Someone plz help.

Your best bet on DVD-9 are Verbatium 2.4x.
The S04 are good but there mixed results.

Where did you find the firmware update?
I did not find it.

I don't want to confuse the issue, but
'Could not perform end of disc-at-once' is merely
a status message. You are burning the whole disc, and the job failed.
The actual error is usually in the line above.
So, checking the posted log files indicates at least
three unique errors which will probably not have the same solution.

 

well i dont know anything about whats in the log, so i hope u guys are right and its just different discs i need, im gonna grab some this friday and hopefully it will work.

Well I will go down the log in order.

The first thing is the Win ASPI is version 4.60.
This is not the problem with Nero since it uses it's own layer.
I would change it to Adaptec ASPI v4.71.2.

CMC MAG, Media Type ID: M01

Not a good choice.
The best media depends on your writer and firmware.
Most of the time I use Ritek RiData R03.
Most here will tell you to buy branded (made and sold by the same company) media made in Japan.
Verbatim, Sony, Taiyo Yuden are top quality.

Next is the writing speed.
The rule is to burn at half the rated speed of the media.
I burn at 4x only. If I was in a hurry 8x.
You can get away with 16x for the top quality media, but it is still not the best choice.

Last is the CDRALW2K driver.
