if the pic you want for your sig is the only pic on your profile page, beware that the image is too large. you need to resize and rehost it.

thank you, ireland, for these lovely teaching aids.

Any chance on getting a copy of the sig rules next to the actual spot that you enter your signature on the profile page? I don't think most people use oversized signatures on purpose, they just use the same one that they use on many other sites not realizing that you guys have rules around it.

Not necessarily so, because most folks that have oversized sigs are regulars here who know the rules, but who "forget" the specs.
Besides, everyone that signs up here agrees to reading the forum rules, which clearly state sig specs.

    Heh, JohnBlaze=pwnd.... ;)

It's just a suggestion, even if it didn't help, I don't see how it could hurt, but I'm guessing maybe that the sofware this forum runs on doesn't allow that kind of customization.

I'm trying to get my sig into compliance. But the ? I have is when I use paint or picture it 7.0, the image no longer is animated. How do I use the url address in my signiture to recognize my edited image. i know this is a dumb ?, but I have to ask and hope that someone feels that there are no dumb ?'s just dumb answers.

    You don't.
Either you shrink the .gif with specialised software/plugins for animated .gif's, or it becomes a still image.

Ok I used a ignite to crop the image to size. Now how do I use it as my signature. The one I originally used had a url address. The one I edited is on my desktop

I have the edited version on my desktop. How do I get it to show in my signature, seeing as how I can't use the original url address for [IMG]
