I have a similar problem in WMP. The song is simply skipped and it turns red. Realplayer plays the same songs just fine.

    Not sure why.

What file types are you guys having issues with? Real? If real player can play the files and WMP cant then either the files are protected (using Reals DRM encryption) or WMP doesn't have the correct codecs installed to play REAL audio files.

Mp3s? Your WMP can't play Mp3s? Wow. All WMPs as of 7.1 can play mp3 files. Mabye you need to re-install your Windows Media codecs?

Mp3s don't have copy protection of any kind! So if its telling you that you need a license then the files are not legit Mp3s (.mp3 files).

No, it's not a license thing, it just thinks it's corrupt.

having problems converting drm protected wma files? just finished converting 2000+ wma files before coming to this forum and it don't do real-time recording which is painstakingly time consuming, with the program i'm using, an average of 5 to 10 secs for a 3 minute long song... if you're interested, email me at wmaconvert@yahoo.com
