What is the most reliable and best DVD burner on the market

    I am in the process of replacing my DVD burner and would liketo know which is the best that I can buy?

    Benqs' nice but you can't get them anymore. Just recently tried with a dodgy vendor called Zipzoomfly.

    Personally, I feel the NEC ND-3550a, updated using the "Liggy's 1.06 bitsetting firmware" from http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com is the best. Pioneer 111 is also good though you should still use a modified firmware to get the most out of it. Lite-On's ok and doesn't need a hacked firmware but does seem to be the subject of far more complaints than any of the above. Stay away from LG and Samsung. I have an LG and it's not very good.

    I picked up the Pioneer 111D, How and where can I get the hacked firmware for this model and what are it's benefits.

    You want Buffalo patched firmware. You can get it all off google.
